I personally love the bargain races as trying to breed a good bargain horse can be harder that breeding a blueblood and lets face it a lot of us may never have a runner in the bluegrass derby or oaks but we could all have a bargain derby or oaks runner one day. You tend to have a lot of time I know I do for that battler who comes from nothing to win one of these races. A win in these races feel just as good as any graded win in open ranks I can tell you. You may say this is not for me but a lot of the top trainers have bargain runners and attack these races with the same verve they do the bluegrass. Trained by Lifeline Stables this COMPOSER colt has an interesting pedigree being 3x4x5 ALYDAR and has raced 3 times only all on dirt and twice in bargain races for a solitary placing last time out in the wet over 8.5f when he was stopping over the last furlong so how he will go today on a dry track is anybodies guess we will have to wait and see breeding says dirt is his best track type .

P JET who I hope throws plenty more winners ( I bred a few myself earlier this year) and last time out won the OZARK STAKES a bargain race over 8.5f the extra distance wont hurt and he should win.

His sire has not a bad record 11 runners for 5 winners in two crops so far. This horse has a good race record 7 races for 3 wins and 2 placings. Ran 2nd in the OZARK STAKES the won last time out over 9f and it seems the further they go the better he gets. He may be the one for the upset.
