After two days of rain; the track here at
battle it out in this G3 event. With a good mix of speed, stalk, and off the pace runners, this appears to be a very tight race.

1 | VINSPECTOR GADGET(KY) | 7/1 | GRsimster’s entry sired by Vindication who has produced 9 graded progeny. This filly shows some versatile running abilities and fits well here. She’s only been OTM twice in her 9 starts. Her last two starts have been in listed stakes events at 9f and she has a couple of ITM finishes. Her SP’s have been improving over the last five races, so she is in good form at the moment. There’s a possibility of her making a statement in this.
2 | KAT VON D(KY) | 8/1 |
Another GRsimster’s entry by Bluegrass Cat. As a 2yo the filly had had some success on grass where she broke her maiden. However, when switched to dirt she started to pick up steam and show that there was more potential on that surface. Her sire’s first crop included 3 G1 winners, so her blood flows with some class. She already has a win and 2nd place finish in listed and her speed figures are improving. She’s a stalker and fits well here.
3 | PRAYER IS(OK) | 2/1 |
This filly represents the Minnesota Downs residency. She is sired by Diamond who has one graded winner in his progeny resume’. He also gets a listed stakes winner or two each year. This gal happens to be the one from last year’s group. She’s also on of the two entries in this that has posted a 100SP. The one troublesome factor is that her SP’s have started to decrease ever since that big effort. That being said, she will go for the lead in this and is taking a class drop from her last out.
4 | DERELECT NOONAN(KY) | 5/1 |
Independent stable that’s not supporting a residency at this time. The filly is sired by Johar and has mostly been sprinting. Sire hasn’t as of yet produced a graded winner in his 4 seasons at stud. The filly has two listed long sprint wins, but hasn’t done well at this level. Coming off sprints and stretching out in this; leads one to think she will try to leave the gate quickly. Test of stamina here.
5 | WORLD AMBITION(AUS) | 4/1
6 | 9/1 |
Yet another GRsimster entry that’s sired by Unbridled’s Song. Sire is no stranger when it comes to producing graded winners. The filly is shooting for her 4th straight win in this. Sp’s have been improving to the point where she looks like she may have a blowout race here. Strategy wise, she fits nicely here. In this punter’s eyes, the odds don’t justify her chances. She appears to have won her races with ease and this event should bring out more of her class.
7 | HIGH SPIRITS( | 7/2 |
This filly represents the NRC and is sired by Singspiel who has one graded progeny way back in his 1st season at stud. She has won a listed stakes at the distance in her 2yo season with an impressive 92SP. After a rest at the end of her 2yo season she picked up two listed events in her first two starts as a 3yo. She tried to advance to a graded win her last out, but came up short even though posting her 1st 100SP. It’s hard to say what that may have taken out of her. If she’s still at the top of her form, her sire may have his 2nd graded winner.
8 | XTRA DYNAFORM(KY) | 14/1 |
Independent entry here. Filly is sired by Dynaformer who has multiple graded progeny. This filly has stamina, but she will be running on dirt for the first time. She picked up a G1 win as a 2yo on the grass and looked to be headed for stardom. Stalling out somewhat recently; the trainer has now decided to give her a shot on dirt. Although the long shot in this field, one never knows what to expect with a surface switch.
My picks of late have been horrible, so take these with a grain of salt…especially with the off track…exacta box = 2,5,6
