1 | RAISING FU(KY) | 4/1 | FuPeg scratch bred filly that hasn’t been OTM since switching to grass. In her last 9 starts on the grass; she is a six time winner and won her last four outings. She is part of the Lenny empire that resides at GRsimsters and it shows in the way she’s come into this event. Her confidence at the moment is very high after her first stakes win last out. Her forte’ at the moment is nine panels in which she appears to be a dominating force. She took on 5 GW’s in her last event and easily brushed them aside. Adding an extra furlong in this shouldn’t be a problem. A concern would be a “bounce” after that huge effort in last.
2 | OTTO CAPITAL | 3/1 |
A graded winning scratch bred mare also residing at GRsimsters. She has won at the distance and beyond; so no need to question her stamina. She’s coming off a breeze win at 11 panels in Q-land and looks to be in perfect condition for her second graded win. She adores the front end and although there are others in this with the same delight; she shouldn’t have too much of a problem. She’s run against much tougher before, so this sets up nicely.
3 | 7/1 |
Representing the RASH residency this 4yo filly will be going on grass for the second straight time. She has had a very nice career on dirt with three listed stakes wins. Her last out was her first time on grass and after a brief period in contention; she wound up last in a 7 horse field. One would be hard pressed not to think that this outing will duplicate her last effort on green. Trainer evidently wants to make sure that wasn’t a fluke.
4 | PROJECT BADGER( | 9/1 |
Winner of seven out of eleven starts; this 4yo Hawk Wing filly is coming off two straight wins. Her only graded start lead to her lowest SP18 as she evidently was hurt, and there after laid off for 2 months. We’ll throw that one out. This will be a stern test for her considering the competition. However, the race sets up well for her style and she is on a roll at the moment. Trainer is not supporting a residency at this time.
5 | DREAMING OF LOVE | 4/1 |
The first thing one will notice about
6 | THE | 7/1 |
The pyeman is representing the EWC with this 4yo filly. After going through conditions in her 3yo season, this Grand Slam sired gal found her comfort zone from 10-13f on the grass. She’s not a world beater by any means but she gives her best as conditions arise. Pye has always been known to race his steeds frequently and doesn’t baby them. Whether one agrees with that or not; it doesn’t take a genius to see he has had a lot of success with his stables. Not sure what to think about this filly’s chances here after two lackluster runs in graded company. However, she does sport some decent SP’s when she’s right.
7 | CAPTIVATING | 5/2 |
The weather man could have been kinder if he predicted a soft course for this event. This 5yo scratch bred mare by Vindication has pocketed 1/4th of her winnings on off tracks! That’s not to say she can’t do well here; but that would have been a big plus. She’s a multiple winner of listed stakes and comes into this graded event with better credentials than most. Looking through her PP’s, we’ll throw out her last as she usually comes back well after a lackluster performance. Yet another from the GRsimsters with a good shot here.
A majority of these F/M like the front end. Strategy will play an important factor in the outcome. It’s hard not to favor the #2 and #7 in this.
