Photonic Former Graded Winner Stakes – Results
Every horse in this race was a “somebody” at one point in their career.
This race was filled with Graded Winners. 8 of the 10 runners have earned $500,000 or more in their career. Some still have the ability to dominate at the track and some still have the dream of victory in their eyes.
The race played out as most would suspect; however, there are two reasons to the view the race: JOURNEYMAN and QUINCANNON. One has a history of complete dominance of the early pace. One has a history of coming from far back in the pack to get into the money.
2008 Photonic Former Graded Winner Stakes – DE 8f, 7yo+, Graded Winner, Owner restricted (week 3511).
Prizes for 3 or more runners in each age group:
1st 8yo 200 credits = JOURNEYMAN
1st 7yo 200 credits = QUINCANNON
There were only two 9yo’s in the race, so there was no prize.
Prizes since there was 8 or more runners:
1st 200 credits = JOURNEYMAN
2nd 300 credits = QUINCANNON
3rd 400 credits = LIKE THE RAIN (congrats for your first SP#100 since 2006!)
Last Place Prize (sadly – no one wins)
PHOTONIC STORM. My old horse made a valiant effort to get near the front early in the race, but simple was outclassed.

I am thinking about offering a similar race like this next January (2009). One of the changes to the conditions will be that it will be 7yo+ from the start (this race started out as an 8yo+ condition race that changed to 7yo+ due to the limited population of 8yo+ Graded Winners available in the sim).
So if you have a 6yo Graded Race Winner that is still un-bred by the end of this year, think about keeping him/her around for January 2009.
