New South Wales sets Nine places for Debutante Lawn Party

          Hello race fans and welcome to New South Wales for an action packed weekend of racing .  Among the quality races for your viewing pleasure , the one that really stands out as a possible shootout is race # 15 on the card .  The Canary Stakes – G III is a rigorous 14 furlongs of Firm Turf for fillies and mares 3 yo + all vying for much needed stakes points and a chunk of the $ 150,000 purse .

 

    Crawford Inc . via stable SLOMA sends ZIPPY DA DO DA  5 / 1 ( City Zip x One for All x Northern Baby ) from post 1 ridden by the on fire rookie R Dowell .  This 4 yo brown mare is coming off a disappointing effort in the World Cup Ladies Turf Marathon . Ranked # 65 in the Long Turf Division , this mare is ready to prove she is worthy of my more accolade .

          A scratch bred mare and marathoner specialist , She has been winless since February 10 in a North Florida 13 furlong ALW where she decimated an 8 horse field winning by 5  1/2 lengths . She has been a steady BP earner in Stakes company but seems to lack that extra punch when stepping into the Graded arena .  Today she takes another shot at Graded company in hopes of obtaining that first Graded win . Her new late charge seems to leave her out of position to finish but things always seem to change as the Sim god’s can be fickle .

With only 7 races under her belt she has managed to claw her way into a position of power quickly and convincingly , improving with every start .   Never once off the board since breaking her maiden earlier this year , she has taken on class and proven competitors at every step and now stands on the brink of greatness as she prepares for her first Graded start .

          Ranked # 303 in the Long Turf Division , this 3 yo filly is bred to rule England … just hasn’t proved she’s worthy of the crown jewels yet .  Since being claimed in March , she’s managed to hit the board 4 times out of 9 starts , winning 2 . This weekend she steps out of the box and goes right from Alw ranks to Graded challenger .  As much as it pains me to say it , her front running style will certainly not do her any favors in this race and well might be the trump of doom for her first Graded start .  NOT A GOOD IDEA(KY) …. At this time I’d have to agree .

Her sole win this season came by way of Queensland’s June 2nd running of the Sour Kraut Cup – G II  where she went 12 panels in 2 : 30 : 4/5  101 SPf .  Since then it’s been a bit of a struggle but the stable trainer assures me that she’s been training and eating hearty the last few weeks and is looking to get back into the game .
