Welcome to todays feature, the Grade I Maudlin Cup over the mile turf course.
ORANGE SWIRL is todays favourite and rightly so, he’s been on a steep upward curve recently and his latest Grade I win over todays distance was impressive to say the least. He’s always been consuistent and looks the winner all over today. ZIKLAG has somwe good recent Graded runs but definetly looks a sprinter at this level. He’ll not last the distance against some of these. CONGO has looked to find even 9f too short recently and must go further to be seen at best effect. He could win some Graded races at this distance but not against some of the specialist milers in todays fireld. Outside money chance. GIANT’S BANJO has won a Grade I over todays trip recently but most of his runs are way below that level. Obviously things must have to drop just right for him so the percentage cal is to oppose- dangerous though. FUSAICHI MAGPIE has put up some sparkling numbers recently but they have been at 6-7f. Each try at a mile has produced a below par run. Has the form to win but must be a doubt about the trip. Place claims. COME ON YOU BLUES looks a specialist miler- three good stakes wins at a mile were followed by a slightly disapointing run at 9f. Back to his favourite distance he must be a threat. Should reach the top three. RED THEATRE(IRE) is another with some good runs lately  but with both Montjeu, Red Ransom and Theatrical in his pedigree he must be seen in a better light over at least 10f. Outside place claims. MIZZEN DIZZIE finished third behind the favourite latest and although there is no reason to suppose he’ll turn the tables he should run into a place. The rest are basuically out of their depth and will be copeting for the wooden spoon.
