Spotlight Graded Race Tip Sheet 3/10
The Spotlight feature takes a quick look at the race program and here are my picks for the graded races on Saturday:
NEW MARKET HANDICAP-Victoria
6-Blushing Cadet 5/1-Enters off a refresher win in allowance group after 3 month breather, looks ready for this one.
1-I Am Groot 5/1-Missed by under a stride when fourth in last with monster late run, right there again.
3-Invincible Spoe 5/1-Third in three-way photo in last start, not out of the picture.
HILL SIDE CHALENGE-Florida
12-Kitten’s Star TX 13/1-Moved to turf in late 2017 and showed she is for real winning listed by 2 with 115 speed. Gains graded win.
1-Black Jack Charm 29/1-Took long 10-month hiatus and returned with career best speed of 107 on off track. Back to dry surface, can it get better at a price with jump to graded?
4-Selfdoute 12/1-Won last four in a row on turf by comfortable margins, jumps to graded looking to extend streak.
CADOKA STAKES-Oregon
8-Mbuna Dance 6/1-Has won 6 races on dirt & turf with a second on poly. Has streak of 5 in a row with last four in listed stakes. Extends streak with grade win.
10-Moscova Nights 6/1-Dropped to allowance after off board listed stake race. Finished 1 & 2 in allowance and looks to have act back together.
2-Comet Cadet 7/1-Enters off solid win in listed stake and only out of money once in seven starts, contender.
NAKAYAMA LADY-Japan
2-Dansili’s Form 3/1-Finished fifth in graded recently after a three month layoff with nice late run effort. Second start after rest is the charm.
6-Your Face 3/1-ITM 75% of starts, got beat after taking late lead in listed at 9.5f, trims back to 9f and could be better opportunity.
1-Vorsoisson 9/2-Likes to run on lead but hasn’t been able to cross line on top since June. May have enough left to get some minor spoils.
THE KEWNEY-Victoria
5-Backwards W 3/1-Won four of last five by good margins, goes mile this time and should adapt easily to distance extension.
4-My Lady Approach 5/2-Favorite is front runner who will battle with top choice throughout race on the lead.
7-Isuntza 4/1-Fished first or second in all 8 career turf starts, one not to ignore.
YE OLE SHOPPING EXCHANGE-Victoria
4-Tweet Me 7/1-Climbing the ladder nicely, winning allowance, listed and graded stakes. Win streak now at four in a row and can extend.
9-American Crime 5/2-Picked up pair of good wins in listed stakes, moves back to graded competition. 110+ speeds are in his back pocket and he could rip one off.
5-Wanna Be The One 25/1-Longshot has hit board in last two and high odds, hitting career best speeds in each. Could third one be another charm?
NEW ZEALAND OAKS-New Zealand
11-Final Realm 5/1-Two very good wins in last pair of starts. Rallied from 10 back to win by 2 in 9.5f in last start, earns the call here.
7-Otto Moncada 7/1-Tested 10 furlongs in last and chopped 12 length deficit to a bit over 3 finishing third. Extra 2 furlongs could help here.
9-Haugh 12/1-Won by four lengths in allowance recently going 9 furlongs. This race is 12 furlongs and maybe she likes the longer routes.
CZECH 2000 GUINEAS-Czech Republic
8-Mr Wedneseay 4/1-Turf converter with success, winning three of four and includes a second. Last win in graded with 100 speed, gets edge.
3-Inner Sunset 6/1-Perfect three for three since moving to turf, fourth is on the horizon.
4-Settle For More 5/2-Favorite also switched to turf recently and has won both starts he’s been in, will push the issue.
CZECH 1000 GUINEAS-Czech Republic
8-Ivarsaur Boneless 9/2-Ran first or second in last six inclusive of three listed stakes. Hard to envision she won’t be there again.
5-Painted Charger 4/1-Doing well with stakes with 2 wins and second in listed, finished third in last with first try in graded.
7-Sign The Petition 3/1-Also has had good trips in listed stakes winning two of four outings with a second, figures to be competitive.
