No Pulling Strings In Wendy’s Storms
Welcome to the
On the inside, in PP1, is #73213 Pulling Strings, a 5 year old danknight trained brown horse by Bestyoucanbe. This fellow looks right at home at this distance, having won a listed stakes last out and winning 4 of his last 5, four of those five being graded stakes, but one should expect that of the #2 dirt sprinter. I expect this guy to be a tough one to beat here today. He is favored today at odds of 5/2 and has jockey S. Home in the irons.
Next up, breaking from PP2, is #23843 Fame And Fortune. This 5 year old chestnut son of Danehill is trained by lenny11. This fellow has a very good record as I see it, running good numbers, but most of which have been in allowance company. His last stakes attempt 3 races back also doesn’t seem to inspire much confidence, but on speeds along he should be able to give the 1 a run for his money. He is off at odds of 9/2 with L Cihak in the saddle.
Starting from PP3 is #4170 Strike The Nerve, a ihop trained 4 year old son of Strike The Gold. This brown colt has had decent showings in his last three runs, finishing second in a listed stakes last time out at this distance. His speeds are good, but he is going to have to step it up a notch or two to get in striking range of the two ahead of him. He is at 7/1 and is ridden by L. Olsen.
Next, starting in PP4, is #90872 Call The Shots, a devry trained 4 year old brown colt by Lion Cavern. This colt seems to have a small case of seconditis, as that is what he has finished in his last three races, the last two being listed stakes. This fellow has decent speeds and should be able to make at least the top five here, if not hit the board, he just needs to get over that seconditis thing. He is off at 5/1 and is being ridden by C. Capper.
In the middle, from PP5, we have #89173 Alycadet(GB). He is a 4 year old brown colt by Cadeaux Genereux(GB) and is trained by be10der2me. One of the more inexperienced horses in this race, with only 14 starts under his belt, this fellow is making only his 2nd stakes appearance. His first was last time out, where he finished a dismal 8th place, with a 97sp at this distance. On the whole, his speeds haven’t been as good as those horses preceding him today, so I don’t see him making too much of an impact here. He is off at odds of 17/1 and has jockey N. Newsome in the saddle.
Next up, in PP6, is #95878
Starting from PP7 is #31934 Sunshine Superman, a siriusflit trained 5 year old chestnut son of A.P. Indy. This fellow definitely has a bit of run left in him, despite having left the gate 54 times already. He’s recently been kept to the longer sprints, but won an allowance last time out at this distance. His last two stakes races showed mixed results but both were in the longer sprints. If he can get out of the slump of those last two stakes attempts, he should be able to get up for at least top 5 here today. He is also at odds of 6/1 today and has jockey M. Snider in the saddle.
Next, breaking from PP8, we have #38653 Mountain Ted(IRE). He is a 4 year old highclaim trained brown son of Monashee Mountain(IRE). This colt has had a very rocky road leading up to this race, with his best run in his last 5 coming from a low level allowance 2 races back, finishing 2nd. I don’t see this colt really having much of an impact on the race here today, especially with his previous stakes outings being less than stellar. He is at odds of 10/1 today and has jockey A. Carlson up.
Breaking from PP9 is #86950 Silent Cat, a 5 year old chestnut son of Tomorrows Cat trained by catrealm. This fellow seems to have been having good and bad races in his past 5, but even his good races have mainly been in allowances. His latest stakes attempt, last time out, he finished 7th of 14. His pattern seems on the upswing this week, but he will still have a difficult time with most of the others here today. He is the outsider here at 21/1 and has Ba Bolton in the saddle.
Lastly, breaking from PP10, we have #50949 Cat Fighter, a 4 year old lothlorien trained brown colt by Golden Missile. This fellow has had decent success in his recent allowance runs, but his last stakes attempt, 2 races back, was nearly a washout, with him finishing 12th of 14. He has enough talent to make a good allowance horse, but will need to step it up a lot to make a dent here today. He is at odds of 16/1 and has jockey H. Wendtland in the irons.
With quite a mixed crew starting here today, I am going to take the 1, the 2 and the 4 (not in that order) to round out my top three. Good Luck and Good Racing.
