DEFIANT COURAGE STAKES
Here we are on a cool sunny day in Indiana for the running of the DEFIANT COURAGE STAKES going 9 furlongs on a fast dirt course and a purse of 90,000 up for grabs. LEAVINGONAJETPLANE trained by urso tops the field with leading rider Armstrong in the irons.
1. LEAVINGONAJETPLANE the 6/5 morning line favorite is coming off two straight wins in Stakes Company. This 4yo filly by RUNAWAY GROOM has earned 229,790 for trainer urso. Her SP over her last three races is a solid 104 avg. I see no reason she won’t be 1-2 today. |
2. NEVERLAND a 3yo filly by LEMON DROP KID and trained by charmer is a solid 8 out of 9 races in the top 3. Jumping up in class here but gets the services of the number 2 jockey here at Indiana R STACY. Winner of its last 2 against Allowance Company will have her hands full today, but could surprise with a big effort. |
3. DIGGING FOR DRUGS a 4yo filly by SMARTEN UP and trained by jbfarms has earned 81,262 racing against much lesser company than she faces today. Will be a huge upset if this one pulls it off. |
4. THANKS ILLINI a 3yo filly by LION HEART and trained by pbf1 is taking a huge step up today. You have to go back 6 races to find a win on this ones record against Allowance Company. Being a fellow Hoosier I can’t pull for a horse named after one of our rivals. LOL : ) |
5. JARRAH a 6yo mare by ALJABR and trained by taztiger has earned over 215,000 in her 53 race career. Her last 2 races she was beaten a combined 20 lengths. The ol gal might have something to say today. Look for her to rebound but still for short to the JETPLANE. |
6. MUST BE A SLEW a 5yo mare by SLEW CITY SLEW and trained by chesapeake has earned 162,000 in her 48 race career. Another in this race coming off 2 straight poor performances will need to fuel up to outrun the JET. |
My pick go with LEAVINGONAJETPLANE with the 2-5-6 GOOD LUCK TO ALL !! |
