Appalooza Stakes G3

Appalooza Stakes Grade III   Fillies and mares, 3 years old, One mile on the Firm Turf Course, Purse : $150,000

Post # 1 Peyragudes (Unbridled’s Song X El Prado X Ack Ack) Trained by limpid. Comes in off a great 4th place effort in the Intercontinental Mile-G3 with a 93sf only by a head at nearly 11/1. In her two prior outings both were wins in stakes company around the mile. Looks to be improving and could be lone speed. M/L-5/1

Post # 2 Lemon Drop Chick (Lemon Drop Kid X Blushing Groom X Rube the Great) Trained by foton. She comes into this race off a bad race losing by 11+ lengths. Prior to that she ran a closing race to win by a head in a Nw2l. She broke her maiden 3 back by 3 lengths but that was on the off dirt course. First try on the lawn she might be worth the price. M/L-18/1

Post # 3 Hollow Hank (Beat Hollow X Silver Hawk X Raise a Bid) Trained by reminder. She has taken to the turf well. She broke her maiden and went straight to stakes company. In her only other non stakes race was a alw- win by 3 lengths and a life time best speed figure of 92. Takes a jump up in class and is likely to be overmatched here but might be worth a play. M/L- 19/1

Post # 4 Ascendancy (Rainbow Quest X Sadler’s Wells X Le Fabuleux) Trained by lbgong. Ran 3rd in the John DeKeyser-G1 with a 93sf. She makes her return in this softer G3. The major question is how will she return off the rest. At a nice price should be worth a play. M/L-7/1

Post # 5 Nonstop Flight (Forty Niner X Seattle Slew X Naskra) Trained by vampire3. She makes her route debut in this race. She looks to have the pedigree to get a mile if not more. She had a nice 6.5 furlong prep race for this stakes. Prior to her two most recent races she was on a 6 race win streak. She capped it off with a 90sf at 7.5 furlongs and only needs to get another half furlong here. M/L- 14/1

Post # 6 Theatrical Fog (Theatrical X Danzig X Stutz Blackhawk) Trained by epcotlen. She has yet to win since her maiden score but she has been in the money 10 of 12 and 8 of 9 on the turf. I would use her in all exotic wagers. M/L 10/1

Post # 7 La Santa Cruz (Aldebaran X Mr. Prospector X Danehill) Trained by santacruz3 Almost won last out in the Intercontinental Mile-G3 by a nose with a 93sf. That race made for back to back 93sf’s. She is hard to ignore off of that effort but you will not get much value. M/L-9/2

Post # 8 Captivating (Vindication X Mr. Prospector X Sadler’s Wells) Trained by peeps3. She is coming in off back to back wins both at 6.5 furlongs. She makes a move out to a mile distance for the first time. If you think she can get the distance you get a great price. M/L-8/1

Post # 9 Sun Turns To Moon (A.P. Indy X Sadler’s Wells X Buckpasser) Trained by loubrown. In only three lifetime starts has won two of them. Both wins have come at a mile or more. In her recent start she won by 2+ lengths with a 96sf. She should improve and should be sitting just off the pace and make her run in the last 2 furlongs. Take a look. M/L-7/1

Post # 10 Sun In Action (Bahri X Troy X Reviewer) Trianed by sjmeola3. She is 5 of 12 lifetime in the money. She has finished second inback to back races after turning three. SHe is making her return here after a short break but you don’t get a great price for it. M/L 7/1

Post # 11 Sahara Trick (Desert King X Unbridled’s Song X Phone Trick) Trained by tonys. She has been running poor races of late. She has not hit the board in her 5 most recent races. I would take a stand against. M/L-15/1

Post # 12 Nob Hill (Miesque’s Son X With Approval X Theatrical) Trained by novanora. She has won 50% of her starts. Two races back she ran a 89sf. Then moved up to a G1 and ran a dismal 11th. She makes her return here. I would wait and see here. M/L-8/1

My Picks- Win-La Santa Cruz, Place- Captivating, Show- Sun Turns to Moon
