The Admiral Sloppy Memorial Stakes. 9.5f Turf

The ADMIRAL SLOPPY Memorial-ST
Race 2755.6410. 9.5 f Turf.
By HeavyGear

Welcome lovers of turf racing (routers/stayers). It’s all systems go
at Portugal with a highly competitive field of 3yr old
youngsters flaunting their funky racing stuff.

(1) DOLE WHIP 5/1

Early Career form hard to fault; in the money for his only two
starts so far and showed improvement last start running
2nd in The Kakadu Bonaza Stakes over 7.5f.
Niniski DamSire line suggests that he will get the distance.
Has ability and every chance to get in the money here.

(2) MCCARRON (IRE) 7/1

Upped in distance from last start 8.5f Allowance win; being a Galileo (Ire)
X Theatrical (Ire) horse it should get the distance.
But will need to step up in speed/pace to feature here.

(3) PRIMETIME PIMP 2/1

Really finding top form since a switch to turf racing.
Last start pace/speed was red-hot in 9f Allowance race
when 2nd to a 4yr old.
Should really feature here, the one to beat.

(4) BREGO 4/1

Only lightly raced and moving up in distance from 8f.
Breeding suggests it can cover a little more ground and a
competent jockey onboard in R. Fitzgerald.
But probably a place chance at best at this stage, one
to follow for future races.

(5) JUNGLE SKY 3/1

Has had a great deal of stakes racing experience and
on best form should feature somewhere in the money.
Has top jockey onboard in B.Tate. Will challenge
for the win here.

(6) ERMINGTON DEST 4/1

Powerful front-runner, who’ll no doubt try to
lead-out again here. Has failed to hold out the
closers in last two starts and with the extra distance here
history could repeat itself.
Place chance if can hold on up front.

Conclusion
Very hard for me to go past PRIMETIME PIMP for the win here
on his last start effort, JUNGLE SKY won’t be far behind for 2nd.
The 3rd spot is a toss up between the inexperienced but
talented DOLE WHIP and front running ERMINGTON DEST.
