Jake’s L.D. Challenge Grade III
Field of nine contest the Grade III star attraction here with a mixture of experience and hopefulls in this one. Not as strong a field as it could have been it still attracts a wealth of experience and excitement among the spectators.
Post 1: 23/1 September (AUS) – (springbred)
The springbred trainer is trying again at this level even though the 4yo filly didn’t perform in her last two outings of which both were GIII. Even though she is Aussie registered outclassed here again I fear and destined to run towards the rear of the pack. She just needs to reproduce her run of 3 races back to have any chance…
Post 2: 7/1 Urko’s Pricey – (eliteteam)
Taking a big jump up to GIII level is this consistently performing 4yo filly at the Allowance level. Has run a few fast times but doesn’t have the experience at these dizzy heights. Will she fade and tremble from nervousness or will she handle the pressure of the GIII stakes.
Post 3: 7/1 Stage Door Buda – (kiwi)
Coming off 2 wins and consistent performances in allowance company, Stage Door Buda gets the chance to rise and shine in this GIII race. Another one who will need to make the jump up to this class and take her speed another notch up or it will be exit stage door left please.
Post 4: 8/1 Brushing Ivory – (cjt6)
Last time out this 4yo filly ran in the Natural Spring Stakes G3 so she knows what it takes to run here. Was up front early but couldn’t last the distance over 7f so you would think she is going to have trouble here over the mile. Can run early though and push the pace…
Post 5: 6/1 My Mariana – (buytapia5)
Only 6 races under her belt but that’s resulted in 4 wins and only 1 run worse than third place. Jumping up from Allowance her last 2 races have been impressive and she looks ready to go the distance here. Chance of a place for sure.
Post 6: 5/1 Bubblegum Rock (IRE) – (highpoint)
Has run at G3 a few times with her best result being a third place fast finish at a sp of 107. Hasn’t been in that good a form of late but is coming off a little rest in the field. Bubblegum Rock will need to pop the bubble and rocket from the gate to have a chance here.
Post 7: 2/1 Ckickadee – (shall)
This 5yo mare with the really cool name of Ckickadee ( I like trying to say it…) looks the goods for this race, is the punters favourite on the odds and is my choice to take it out. Lots of experience at this level and some amazingly fast speeds in allowance and stakes company, she will blow this field away if she can reproduce those types of runs.
Post 8: 9/2 Waste Time (IRE) – (niceday)
Has been running on an up and down form in both Allowance and Stakes races until her last 2 races out. Both were wins, SP’s over 100 with the last one at Stakes level. So the trainer has decided not to waste any time and push Waste Time (IRE) straight up into this race while she is on form. Place…
Post 9: 14/1 Cardinal (NZ) – (niceday)
Another long shot in this race is the very good looking Cardinal (NZ) not even showing her age yet as a 5yo mare. 3yo only surely with those looks….. Anyways, has been doing the rounds of the Stakes with some success but doesn’t look to have the speed needed here. Has the looks though…
