Multi-millionaire KRISHNA(IRE) will lead a field of five mares to the gate for the running of the UNBRIDLED DAWN Special Stakes at Lousiana Downs on Saturday.  The heavily favorite mare out of Theatrical(IRE) comes in off of a graded stakes victory.

PP1

Susie Q

Owner- zeco5

Jockey-P Sullivan

Odds 18/1

Miesque’s Son x Pleasant Colony

This five years old mare enters this event as the race longshot at eighteen to one odds.  Two races back, she led gate to wire in a fourteen furlong event to capture her first career stakes victory.  She can be expected to be on or near the pace from the outset, but the talent of this race may be too much for her.

PP2

Worldweary

Owner-parakeet

Jockey-Ma. Scott

Odds 4/1

Sunday Silence x Fappiano

Winless in two career starts at this distance, she faded badly in her last outing; a graded stakes event.  Expect her to be tucked in behind the front runners of this small field.

PP3

Krishna(IRE)

Owner-paceman2

Jockey-D Hogin

Odds 1/5

Theatrical(IRE) x Kris S.

Large favorite after an impressive win the Miami Beach Turf Stakes (Gr.II) at 12 furlongs.  She rallied from the back of the seven horse field to win drawing away.  A winner of over three million in her career, she is the “class” of the field.  One additional note- Krishna(IRE) finished third in the 2005 Breeders Bowl Turf Distaff (Gr. I).

PP4

Rock River Quest

Owner-airbiscuit

Jockey- T Campy

Odds 6/1

Rainbow Quest x Bustino (GB)

Considering she failed to fire in her last outing, and finished up the field, hopes must remain high for this four year old to withstand the shipping cost from Asia for this event.  She will probably be attempting her move to the front in conjunction to when Krishna(IRE) elects to go- the question is whether her move will be strong enough to stay with the favorite.

PP5

Celebre Brief

Owner-alleds

Jockey-F Oxon

Odds-7/1

Peintre Celebre(IRE) x Scenic(IRE)

Winless in her last four trips- she likes to run on the lead, but has struggled to stay in contention in the stretch.  This field is strong enough that she may run a similar route this time out.

Summary:  The Class of the field –KRISHNA(IRE) should be in the winner’s circle if she runs her race.  The pace should be strong with Susie Q and Celebre Brief on the early lead.  If Krishna(IRE) finds her trip difficult, then Worldweary or Rock River Quest may be in position to best benefit.
