One Filly vs Six Mares in the showdown at Arizona
As we head to Arizona, will we see the younger generation come through or will the older mares dominate with experience. Whichever way it goes, these 7 girls are all capable of winning this stakes, except for Ed’s Hansel Point who will find this really tough.
THE PEDRO SHOW(GB) – This mare will benefit from a slow pace at the front. At 8/1 she isn’t without a chance but she is up against some bloody impressive company and should probably be looking to be more competitive in allowance class before tackling stakes competition. Still, no-one thought Chuck Norris would remain undefeated world martial arts champion and he did, so I may be proved wrong.
KRYSZOSTONIAK – As the 2nd favourite of the race, this 5 year old mare is my pick of the race. She will set a super quick pace and is looking to improve on her last start where she came 2nd. Tfortiger would have to be very happy with this mares form over the past year.
BOLD L – Not a bad girl but it looks as though she is really going to struggle with a quick pace. However, Jkj3 will probably have noticed that she tends to run at the level of her competitors and so we could see her run a personal best. By the way, a 20% winning rate is impressive and definitely worth keeping in mind.
BUDA AT THE BALLET – Coming off a stakes win and over $200000 in earnings, this 5 year old mare is well positioned to give this stakes a real shake. Not too sure about the name but that may have something to do with being very heavily inbred. Big threat.
ED’S HANSEL POINT – This mare is just really outclassed here and at 13/1 should be looking more at an allowance run, or playing backgammon.
STOP THE GROOM T – This very short priced favourite is in raging form at the moment and will look to be upsetting her older competition. At just 4 years old she has a huge future ahead of her and is coming off a well earned break to try and tip a quarter of a million dollars in earnings. Good luck priceless.
SORE BUDDY – This mare has really only hit top form in her last couple of runs. Not sure if she will be quick enough but will be looking to storm home at the finish if the lead is not too big.
