Wow What A Field!

Wow What A Field!

Six crackerjack 3 year old fillies have assembled for the highlight on the Athenian card this week, the Tough Jack Stakes worth 75k to be run over 7.5 furlongs on the fast dirt track. The race should be a pumper and on paper looks an evenly matched affair, let’s take a look at how they line up.

Atarazanas will jump from the inside gate and looks a treat. Never out of the money in any of her 7 race starts this gal looks a treat and is flying of late. The Congaree filly has continued to improve from day 1 and has taken well to the training regimes of Jupiter. Rated a 5/2 shot for this Atarazanas will no doubt not be far away again but does she have what it takes to get the goods?

Winging Angel G is a Storm Of Angels filly who absolutely rattled home last start and was unlucky not to come home with the goods. She drops back in distance for this where she has had a lot of success albeit in inferior company to what she meets here. A more mature filly now and will give this a big crack.

Deadwood Trixe has an impressive race record with 3 wins from just 5 career outings and has an edge on some of her rivals here being a stakes winner so there is no question about her class. Fourth last time out she has been struggling to run a big time and will face some speedier opposition here. Will have to pull out a career best time to take this and does look a little tested in the company.

Senor Sir is the one to beat in my book. She’s a filly going places and comes off a cruisy 1 length win last time out in stakes company in good time. She finished off that one well and will be the testing material. Top jock on her back and conqcielo will have her primed for this. Take some catching.

Silver Chips hails from the barns of billy2shoe, a man with an eye for turning claimers into stakes winners. He has developed a knack of this, none more noted than his boom filly Not A Moo Cow. At 6/1 she’s the field roughy and to be honest will need to pull out something g special here. A big run last time out although she jumps greatly in class for this but if anyone knows how to get this gal home its 2shoe. Don’t write her off.

Shaktoolik has made a promising start to her so far brief career and is another who adds interest to this race. Has been nurtured nicely through the grades by swale007 and she returned the favour with a solid stakes effort last time out. She finished 3rd their and now looks to want a little more distance but nonetheless will be flying home again. Every chance here.

Summary: Many of these gals are going off at short odds but the one to beat looks to be Senor Sir. Is absolutely flying at present and should put in a big performance.
