Canadian Gold Impressive To Get Pher to 2.5 Million
South Africa- Saturday was a special day for owner pher as pher joined the 2.5 million club for 2005. It was an amazing acheivement and congrats from all of us! Money of course doesn’t grow on trees though and so now let’s look at the race which made that event happen. Canadian Gold, bred and owned by pher, was a close second choice in THE BLONDE ACTION SPECIAL STAKES
Purse: $90,000 Fillies and mares, 2 years old Seven furlongs — Fast Dirt. Three horses went out to try and deny pher from joining the club, and all of them came within 4 lengths of suceeding. Canadian Gold ran out for a two length lead with jockey Alberto Peel, while the rest were left chasing the quick pace maker. All of them just fell back at the half, including slight favorite Wegottago, owned by taztiger. At the three quarters the crowd thought they saw signs of Canadian Gold losing a bit of ground, and they were right. Makeitshorter was coming on in second, Wegottago in third, and Deadwood Trixe in last. Wegottago gained over two lengths at the end but was not enough to catch pher’s quick filly. Makeitshorter was bumped down to third when Wegottago went flying by, I guess hawk5 really does think they should have made the race shorter, and Deadwood Trixe was dead last the whole time.Canadian Gold $5.60 $3.30 $2.10
Wegottago 2.30 2.10
Makeitshorter 2.10
Exacta:$10.70
Trifecta:$22.90
Also Rans: DEADWOOD TRIXE
Time of race: 1:24 2/5
