Mrs. Focker Pulls Out A 5th Win As The Year Closes

On Saturday in the city of Athens there was little doubt who was the horse to beat. Mrs. Focker at 4/5 had the fastest sp’s by a pretty good margin and the addition of jockey V Drosos wasn’t a negative factor either. Sure enough, Mrs. Focker crushed the competition of only three horses who dared to face this fast filly in The ABERCROMBIE GIRL Memorial Stakes Fillies and mares, 2 years old, Seven and half furlongs on the Fast Dirt Course, Purse : $85,000. The field broke from the gate pretty close together but Kat Kandy decided to try and mess Mrs. Focker by gunning for the lead. Until the quarter pole in worked, but at the half Kat Kandy under jockey N. Cling fell back a bit. Meanwhile, the 9/5 second choice Valdepuga(IRE) sat patiently in third and big longshot Dynanine Hollandia owned by Mr. Computer trailed throughout. They crossed the 3/4 point and charged into the stretch, with Mrs. Focker leading and Valdepuga desperately hoping to close enough ground. The plan didn’t work though and Mrs. Focker ran away at the end to win by over 2 lengths for the successful stable of maltese in a final time of 1:31 2/5.
