DODGE THE VICAR dodges to Victory in BB Juvenile
Dodge The Vicar showed that her breeding is unquestioned when she took a big step toward respectability in the Bargain Bowl Charlies Tiger Juvenile Stakes in New Jersey today. She easily captured the top spot in the $125,000 dirt mile stakes race for Juvenile Bargain Breds
This chestnut filly by Dodge x Vicar x National Assembly beat out the boys and other pretenders to the crown.and moved her earnings up over $75,000. She ran her best race by more than seven speed figure points with a 78 and showed Trainer Redturkey2 that she might be happiest on the mile track. She won for the first time and what a way to break your maiden! There were several tough horses in this race and she dispatched them all with ease and gave Redturkey2 something to think about when planning his filly’s future. He has three other 2 year olds with bargain credentials that will certainly have the hopes and dreams attached to them that Dodge The Vicar now has at least partially achieved.
Perchance and DJ Sisterhood jumped out to the early lead in this race and traded the first position back and forth. At the half, Dodge the Vicar and Wave Goodbye made their move and blew by the leaders. Dodge the Vicar had that extra gear and Wave Goodbye held on for second. His Son Geno just stayed ahead of a hard charging Nuclear Free for third.
An interesting turn of events for RedTurkey2 as he had to wonder about his filly’s chances before the race. She showed her mettle and jockey Word showed his as well. A wonderfully run race has this filly on the radar and looking forward to her next race.
