PP#1 RIP STORM IRE 3M juniorcoke G Walters $79
RIP VAN WINKLE (IRE) x DYNAFORMER x STORM CAT
Starts: 7:1-0-0
Money Earnt: $9,660
Distance Starts: First Start
Class Starts: 2:0-0-0
Track Starts: 2:0-0-0
Rank: N/A
Best Speed and Distance: 92 @ 1600m
Last 5 Starts: 16s96

Three year old colt that comes into this race with just one win on the board. He is at big odds here today and despite having two starts at this class he has not been able to get close to the winner. G Walters jumps on board him today for his third start at the track, and I guess connections are hoping third time lucky. This is his first start beyond 1800m and I think he’s better suited to shorter distances. This is his third start from a spell but can’t see him doing well here.

PP#2 A TUFF KIRBY IRE 5M kingkirby B Schardein $4
CAPE CROSS (IRE) x MONTJEU (IRE) x GALILEO (IRE)
Starts: 37:6-13-5
Money Earnt: $232,767
Distance Starts: 2:0-1-1
Class Starts: 1:0-0-0
Track Starts: 2:1-0-0
Rank: 3,533
Best Speed and Distance: 111 @ 2000m
Last 5 Starts: 24222

Five year old horse who is early third favourite. This one has plenty of experience under his belt, but he is yet to win at this distance. He has been racing really well at allowance company and the trainer is bringing him back on turf. The owners have once again got the service of jockey B Schardein who did guide him to a win back in October. This horse has so many times finished runner up and with his form he must be considered as one of the main chances.

PP#3 MOUNTAIN BUDA IRE 6M godmother D Montgomery $4.5
MONTJEU (IRE) x KINGMAMBO x DANZIG
Starts: 39:6-6-10
Money Earnt: $1,687,442
Distance Starts: 4:2-0-2
Class Starts: 7:1-1-2
Track Starts: 4:0-0-1
Rank: 139
Best Speed and Distance: 117 @ 2000m
Last 5 Starts: 00441

Six year old horse who is bred for races like this. This ones been around for a while and yet this is his first attempt at this race. His form at the distance is very good with him yet to miss a placing from four starts, also his stats at the class are good. D Montgomery has picked up the ride on him again, but you’ll have to think he’d have to ride him better than he did in the GRP2 The Rheinstone 2400m back in August. Has had three easy allowances races in the lead up to this race and two of those races were at this track so you can say he is primed for this one. If we see the best of Mountain Buda he will definitely go close here.

PP#4 INSHALLA KY 5M mickyb M Kiprusoff $6
FORESTRY x GALILEO (IRE) x MONTJEU (IRE)
Starts: 27:5-7-7
Money Earnt: $512,442
Distance Starts: 6:1-3-1
Class Starts: 2:0-0-1
Track Starts: 1:0-0-0
Rank: 275
Best Speed and Distance: 109 @ 2000m
Last 5 Starts: 37102

Five year old horse who is looking to get his first group win here. Has great form at the distance with only once missing the placings from six starts. Has finished third at this class and forget his run in the The Nikkan Sport where he was clearly bothered by the rain affected track. M Kiprusoff takes the ride on him today and I think he’s got to be considered as an each-way chance.

PP#5 DOOTSIN CUM LAUDE KY 4M hoots Al Glover $3.5
STUDENT COUNCIL x SEATTLE SLEW x DANZIG
Starts: 23:9-11-1
Money Earnt: $514,640
Distance Starts: 1:0-1-0
Class Starts: 2:1-1-0
Track Starts: 1:1-0-0
Rank: 210
Best Speed and Distance: 110 @ 2000m
Last 5 Starts: 21272

Four year old colt who is the early second favourite here. He has had a win at this track back in November in The Harry Potter at 2000m which you would have to say is his best run yet. Al Glover takes the ride on him today which you would have to say is a positive. Has finished second from his only start at this distance and is yet to finish worse than second from two starts at the class. His last run in the The Second Coming 2000m was impressive and he is dropping back in class so he’s got to be a big threat here.

PP#6 DOS LOCAS KY 6M doslocas BJ Ball $2.5
ROCK HARD TEN x MANILA x ACK ACK
Starts: 22:9-5-2
Money Earnt: $816,761
Distance Starts: 2:1-0-0
Class Starts: 3:2-1-0
Track Starts: 1:1-0-0
Rank: 127
Best Speed and Distance: 113 @ 2100m
Last 5 Starts: 11144

Six year old horse that is the early favourite and you can see why. He has been freshened up for this race and BJ Ball has the ride on him today. Has had a win from two starts at the distance and is yet to finish worse than second at the class. His only start at the track was back in July in a nw4x allowance at 2400m where he wasn’t challenged to win comfortably. He is a quality horse and I think he’ll bounce right back here and is the one to beat.

PP#7 GOETHE JPN 4M trapper79 C Guerrero $8
CONDUIT (IRE) x KALANISI (IRE) x PIVOTAL (GB)
Starts: 15:5-2-1
Money Earnt: $169,548
Distance Starts: First Start
Class Starts: First Start
Track Starts: 2:1-1-0
Rank: 3,073
Best Speed and Distance: 109 @ 1800m
Last 5 Starts: 41103

Four year old colt who is stepping up in class here, has only had the one start in group racing. The South African Classic* 1800m GRP2 was his only start in a group race where something went wrong and he didn’t perform. First start at distance and class here but has got track experience. G Guerrero takes the ride on him today and I think there is to many unknowns about him so take him at your own risk.

PP#8 ASTROQUEST IRE 4M gatetowire P Jones $7
CAPE CROSS (IRE) x GALILEO (IRE) x RAINBOW QUEST
Starts: 20:4-10-2
Money Earnt: $183,070
Distance Starts: 2:1-1-0
Class Starts: 1:0-0-1
Track Starts: 1:0-1-0
Rank: 216
Best Speed and Distance: 107 @ 2400m
Last 5 Starts: 12013

Four year old colt who is our last runner in this years field. The bookies have given him 7/1 odds which is good value if you like a roughie. Is yet to finish worse than second at the distance and has had a second placing from his only start at the track. Hasn’t raced at this track since he was a two year old and P Jones takes the ride on him today. He did well last start in the GRP3 Ravens Bowl at 2400m where he was at similar odds to finish third at his first start in group racing. This one is also one that you have to take at your own risk.
