Spotlight Tip Sheet
Last week was the first time the Spotlight feature produced a tip sheet. Admittingly, I had some fun with it, so I’m going to stick with it again this week. The Spotlight has always jumped around to various tracks, trying to draw attention to a variety of horses and races in various areas. I’ll keep that going this week and this week’s Spotlight Tip Sheet will venture to New South Wales.
RACE 1
6. Your Promise has been on board 4 of 6 grass runs, ready to graduate.
4. King of Wolff drops back to sprint and may work better with her early speed.
3. Ask of Birds moved back to turf in last with much improved speed to 73 which makes her competitive here at nice price.
RACE 2
2. Yeawood hit speed of 92 for 12f on wet track in last. Stretches to longest route of career but in good hands with Bangs aboard.
6. Animal Channel has speed and likes long distances, chance to wire field.
3. Argus has been on board once (a win) in seven starts on turf, however speeds have been better than many in this field.
RACE 3
3. Red Pyro heavy favorite should have no problem in this race.
4. No Entrance recent stake winner is better than the rest.
RACE 4
6. Puhoi Work scored lifetime best speed of 74 in last, ready to break maiden.
2. Pygmy Ghost switched to turf in last with notable speed improvement, may like this surface better than dirt.
1. Exboourne’s Gaia is filly out of Ghostzapper who just hasn’t scored. Drops back to spring and returns to grass but has been away for over three months and may need a race to get back on track.
RACE 5
13. Empire Park dropped out of stakes company to allowance in last, rallied with 107 speed. Trims back in distance but still capable, gets call.
9. Tonguska very consistent with 100 speed races, figures to hit board.
12. Judakiss comes in with modest rest and Bangs picks this one to ride. Worth a shot.
RACE 6
1. Stoicism was racing every 2 to 3 weeks. Longer rest was given before last start resulting in a career best speed of 82. Gets better rest, gets to break maiden here.
4. Movie Theater will be tough with field’s best speed numbers.
2. Intense Camazotz speed numbers have been steady, best of the rest.
RACE 7
4. Gotta Map showing very good form, on board each of 8 starts with 5 wins. Extends current win streak to four straight.
8. Seventh Sense dropped out of graded company in last, winning easily in allowance. This race will be a tad tougher, but has class edge.
2. Let You Go having a good 2012 season, on board last 5 starts and loves distance. One not to ignore.
RACE 8
5. Enzed Mambo has been first or second in six of last seven starts while averaging a speed of 106. Gets the call here.
6. Physic over last six starts has won every other start. If pattern holds, will be due this outing.
2. Iron Haack makes second start after a rest and drops from stakes level. One to watch out for.
RACE 9
4. Cuttin De Kernel is a speedster who hasn’t found way to hold on. Shorter distance here could be the answer.
5. Chope War in same situation as top pick. Looks to benefit with drop in distance.
3. Wabble Wowser is first time start with good bloodlines and gets Dowell in the saddle.
RACE 10
6. Secret File hit speed of 70 in debut which is hard to ignore. 2-year old comes in with three weeks rest which is worth thinking about.
4. Quinella Queen pressed leader in debut before tailing off to fifth. Well bred for grass and gets the favor of Bangs as rider.
2. Debris Road just missed in debut by quarter length going 5.5f. Last outing was at 6f, missed by 2 and a half. Drops down to 5f and this could be the right time for him.
RACE 11
3. MT Spec has nice late speed and has won 3 of last 5. Wins have come every-other race and this is the “off-race”, however, I think she has the talent to change this trend.
6. Cruel Governess has hit speeds of 100 in four of last fiver races which spells out good form in this group and should be a factor.
2. Northern Freedom is likely pace setter in this race coming off nice with at mile with 103 speed. Capable of going all the way again.
RACE 12
2. Dutton Park wowed the crowd with 100-speed number when caught in stretch, finishing second. The one to beat.
8. VT Hotrod may have made successful switch to dirt. Finished second two back with speed of 79. Broke maiden in last with vastly improved speed of 92 at 9-1. Well worth a shot.
5. Royal Spirit has been improving each week with the speed, no reason to think this won’t continue in this race. Chance to hit the board.
RACE 13
3. Dikta Melody three time stake winner gets call in short field event.
1. Rozelle Trilogy has won five of nine, main threat.
RACE 14
9. Rozelle Saturn popped a speed of 97 when this A.P. Indy filly advanced to route. On board all 10 lifetime starts. In right spot.
6. CK Demon Spawn failed in last two tries at stake level. Gets class relief with drop to allowance and ready to rebound.
7. Kameha IX Chel seems to like the mile distance range and wired field with career best speed of 91 in last. May take a piece of the purse.
RACE 15
5. Deep Indy narrowly won on dirt debut wiring field with 86 speed. Capable of repeat performance.
8. Abusement Park last two were over dirt and speed jumped from 78 to 89. A serious threat.
3. Emerald Marie has been on board in all four career dirt races. Will have to fight to do it again.
RACE 16
6. Sandman Running gets slight edge in race with strong late run in debut and very competitive speed of 92. Looks to break maiden.
5. Oh Yeah TB is favorite in race with speeds in 90-range over last three races. Will be tough and definitely one to include in exotic wagers.
7. Aspaulsaidinromans travels long way for this one. Speeds have been 85 and 92 in only two starts and look sharp. Depending how well he ships into the track, he could be the one.
