Closebutnocigar Turf Juvenile Fillies

Welcome to British Columbia for todays 15th race a minor stakes for 2 yo fillys carrying a purse of $55,000 and a nice looking trophy. We have six entries on todays card. The filly ELITE PINEDA is the early favorite at 4/5. Let’s take a look at this year’s field.

PP 1  ELITE PINEDA(IRE) 4/5
(HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR x SEATTLE SLEW x BROAD BRUSH)
Game Dam : TURPENTINE SEATTLE
Bred by nyyankee   owner:elitecavlo
Turf  3  1  1  0  $42,770
Total 3  1  1  0  $42,770
Broke maiden last start with a very nice 78 sp rating. Has tons of early speed. If can she get out in front of BARB’S A SHOPPER at the break, it’s her race to lose.

PP 2  KENTUCKY WONDER(KY)  12/1
(STEVIE WONDERBOY x SMOKE GLACKEN x FUSAICHI PEGASUS)
Game Dam : KENTUCKY GLACKEN(KY)
Bred by beetlebomb  owner:beetlebomb
Turf  1  1  0  0  $27,120
Total 3  1  0  0  $27,120
If you throw out the 2 dirt races she looks good at 12/1. Turf is what she likes.  She could challenge early and make it tough on ELITE PINEDA and BARB’S A SHOPPER as to who sets the pace.

PP 3  BARB’S A SHOPPER(KY) 9/2
(LONHRO (AUS) x NOVERRE (IRE) x POLISH NUMBERS)
Game Dam : BARB’S RAINED OUT(IRE)
Bred by jakematt5  owner:jakematt5
Turf  3  1  1  0  $32,945
Total 3  1  1  0  $32,945
This nice filly has proven she can go to the front or come from behind. I look for her to challenge for the lead here.  It’s a little tougher field than she’s had to face in the past.  If shes near the front at the stretch it’s hers to win.

PP 4  CLASPED(KY)  3/1
(ANY GIVEN SATURDAY x DIXIELAND BAND x DRONE)
Game Dam : AMY BAND
Bred by mitcho2   owner:mitcho2
Turf  0  0  0  0  $0
Total 2  1  1  0  $34,400
This is her first start on turf after 2 starts on the dirt. She broke her maiden first start in a 12 horse field, and her next start was a small field alw. where she ran 2nd. She could pull it off here as it’s not a very strong field.

PP 5  BAD FOX(CA)  10/1
(BIG BAD LEROYBROWN x FUZZIANO x ARCTIC TERN)
Homebred Scratch Bred Horse
Bred by deeprock8   owner:deeprock8
Turf  0  0  0  0  $0
Total 2  1  0  0  $9,660
This is also her first start on turf after breaking her maiden with a nice 73 sp.  She basically sat in the gate her next start so is looking to rebound here. Notably she’s the only Scratch Bred entered.

PP 6 KENINDY(OK)  6/1
(KENNEDY x WAR EMBLEM x TREMPOLINO)
Game Dam : MILLVIEW DRASTIC(JPN)
Bred by wyndaway31  owner:wyndaway31
Turf  2  0  1  0  $2,822
Total 5  1  1  1  $26,422
This daughter of first year sire KENNEDY has already picked up a 2nd place finish in the Bbors A Romeo Turf Juvenile Fillies stake with a respectable 73 sp. She also ran in the Unusual  Circumstances Juvenile -G3 where she finished 10th 4 lengths back.  If she breaks in middle of the pack, there could be an upset looming.

Good luck to all the trainers and their prize fillies!
