Saffire-The Uppity Blues Band sings about taking Potential over Experience but it was not racing that they were singing about. Taking the step up into stakes competition comes early for some two year olds. Three of the five starters in Saturday’s event at The Fuzzy Peach Racing Complex will be making their debut in this event. While some trainers believe that development and gradual movement upward from one level of competition to the next is the healthiest and best process to follow, others adapt to the philosophy of “aim high until you miss a shot”. It will be interesting to see which approach results in what horse and ownership lines in the winner’s circle for the end-of the race victory photo.
As for the 2005 Field for The

El Prado(IRE) x
Winless in five trips-but, been close twice. She came up a little short in her last race (a stakes event). She has little experience going on decent running surfaces, so this might be as good as any to give a stakes event another try. She has a closing running style, so I would not expect this distance to be her best shot at breaking her maiden.

Regal Classic x Seeking the Gold
She is debuting in this event, so much will be gained from her trip on Saturday. She is one of two juveniles that ruby7 will be introducing to sim racing this weekend.
PP3 | LONHRO’S | Owner-mann167 | Jockey-k Bray | Odds-3/1 |
Lonhro(AUS) x
She is one of three that will be walking in the post parade for the first time. Here early works have been impressive enough to make her the second choice, but a workout is not always the real thing for two year olds.
PP4 | DARK FLAME | Owner-tejanoroy | Jockey-Y Blackmon | Odds-Even |
Sadler’s Wells x Mr. Prospector
Bloodline is impressive enough to put her on top of the morning line. Jockey selection is surprisingly weak for someone selected as race favorite. Lack of strength among the entries may work to her benefit.
PP5 | COREY’S BOO BOO | Owner- rharfo2 | Jockey- V Simpson | Odds 5/1 |
Aptitude x In the Wings(GB)
Seven trips-with three wins, so she is the “old” veteran among this group. In a field as inexperience as this one, I am a bit surprised that she is at five-to one. Some doubt about her abilities may be based on her racing times over her racing results. She has tested longer distances and was able to handle the distance, so stepping back in distance may be questioned. I, for one value the experience of success over potential (until potential becomes proven).
My selections are: COREY’S BOO BOO LONHRO’S
DARK FLAME
