The Frisco Mile
Hello and welcome to sunny California. People from across the U.S. come to the Sunshine State to enjoy its great attractions such as the beaches, theme parks, and golf courses. What most don’t look at is the horse racing. Yes that’s right horse racing is a big part of the California economy, and today’s field in The Frisco Mile looks to be small but competitive. We have six horses today going for their chance at the 300,000 purse in today’s Grade II. This race is for three year olds and up and they will be going a mile on the firm turf. Now let’s meet our runners.
PP1. First in line today we have the five year old horse Prance. This guy has had a decent career on the grass with 22 races under his belt. He has managed six wins in those races. His last three races have all been below the graded ranks, though the SP’s have been decent. His highest SP in the last three races has been a 109, and he finished third in that open allowance. Owner razeland hopes that jockey B. Roberts can take this 5/1 shot to the winners circle.
PP2. In the two spot today we have I’m Breathless. This five year old horse has been running in the allowance ranks his last couple of races, and he looks to match his 107 SP, first place performance two races back in the NW3N allowance. This boy seems to run better on the wet turf as he has run SP’s o f 106, and 107 in his last eight on the wet grass. He will be ridden by jockey T. McGriggs. Owner taleofcat9 will hope that this 7/1 shot can bring home the win.
PP3. Yes we are already at the halfway spot, and we have Nerf Me. This is a young four year old colt out of the dixiedotc2 stable made the jump to the stakes ranks last time out. Nerf Me liked the jump as he ran a 105 SP second place finish on the good turf. His last three races have been pretty nice as he has run 100 plus SP’s twice. Nerf me is a 5/1 shot in today’s Grade II, and will get jockey T. Bay in the saddle.
PP4. As we start our downhill descent, we stop at the 4th post position and the four year old colt Memory Book. This guy has been running well as of late. He has not failed to hit the board in his last eight races. He had been running SP’s in the 100’s before running a 98 SP two races back, but finishing 3rd. The owner of this boy is baileybarn. He will get jockey J. White in the saddle for today’s race. Memory Book is a 3/1 shot.
PP5. In the five spot we have High Frequency. This five year old horse has a .500 winning percentage on the turf. His last three SP’s have all been pretty good as he has run 112, 100, and 106, though he finished 11th in a listed stakes two races back. In the saddle today we have jockey C. Winter, and owner newastin19 will hope that he can bring home the win today. High Frequency is a 5/2 shot in today’s race.
PP6. Here we are already at the end of today’s card for the race. In the last spot we have the veteran seven year old horse Gyrocaster. He has been running well as of late, and looks to not only improve on his 100 plus SP’s, but also to make it into the winners circle. He has 17 wins from a total of 47 grass races in his career. He has never tried dirt. Jockey S. Munoz will get the ride for owner cajunbeat. Gyrocaster is a 2/1 shot.
Well that about wraps it up here from sunny California. With such a small field, it is so tough to not only choose a winner, but to choose a top three finish. If I had to take a shot, I would go with the 1,4,5 tri-fecta. I want to take this time to thank you for reading my article, and to remind you that for all of your sim racing coverage, head on over to the BTB forum. This has been Dylan with your pre race article for The Frisco Mile. Good luck to all trainers, and let the racing begin!
