The Ted Nugent Classic

Bonjour tout le monde, et bienvenue à la France.  Sorry everyone, excuse my French.  I have been trying to improve on that all week when I learned that I was going to get a once in a lifetime chance to cover The Ted Nugent Classic here from Deauville, France.  So welcome all, here is what we have going today.  The sun is out and temps are fair here today.  We have a great group of horses four years old and up going one mile on the firm turf.  They are all racing for their chance at a shot of that 250,000 purse.  This will be the 14th carded race today, and will be considered a Grade II.  And here is the call to the track, let’s meet our horses in today’s Ted Nugent Classic.

PP 1.  In post position number one today we have Fishing Spot.  This four year old colt has had a decent career here on the grass, and looks to pick up his first win since his 8th race back.  Though he has not earned a win for a while, SP’s have shown constant improvement over the past three races going 100, 103, and 107 respectively.  Most of his life has been spent on the grass where he has 16 races under his belt, with five of those races being wins.  Owner gallantman will put his faith in jockey R. Stevenson to bring this 8/1 shot to the winners circle

PP2.  Coming out of gate number two we have Woozapper.  This five year old horse is no stranger to the graded ranks, as six out of his last eight have been graded races.  His last three races have shown pretty good SP’s of 114, 110, and 112, but he has not reached the winners circle besides in an allowance in his last three.  He has 13 races on the grass, five of which are wins.  The owner lulu will hope jockey J. Stivers can get the job done today.  Woozapper is a 5/2 shot in today’s race here in Deauville.

PP3.  The third horse in today’s line has an equal number of races on the grass and on the turf.  Yes that’s right, Haack’s Train has a total of 16 races under his belt, and eight of them have been on the dirt.  The other eight on the turf has proven well for owner xhaack as he has run a high SP of 107 on the grass.  Haack’s Train has not run in a Stakes race ever in his career, let alone a Graded race.  He will look for his first stakes win as well as graded win today.  This four year old colt is a 24/1 long shot in today’s race, and will be ridden by J. Kemp.

PP4.  Hitting the half way point today we have Whole Lot Of Kirby.  Onegoodguy sends this four year old colt to the graded ranks after running 5 straight SP’s of 100 plus, with one of those being on the YLD Turf.  The last three races for this guy has shown some of the best races of his career as he has raced in two listed stakes and one allowance running SP’s of 106, 115, and 110, and finishing with two firsts and a second.  He has five wins in 15 career races on the grass.  The jockey set for Whole Lot Of Kirby will be J. Shaver, and the odds makes have put him at a 7/2 shot.

PP5.  Alberta Tornado will look to make it two in a row in the graded ranks after today’s races.  This veteran six year old horse has had a long career, and he looks to make it an even better one with a win today.  His last three races have been an allowance, listed stakes, and Grade III.  He has won two of those races, and the SP’s are consistent at 109, 103, and 113.   This boy has a total of 27 races on the grass and seven of those races have earned him a trip to the winners circle.  The owner of Alberta Tornado is holeinone, and he has hired jockey W. Moss for the job.  Alberta Tornado sits at 4/1.

PP6.   In the six hole today we have Waltzing.  Waltzing is a four year old colt with a total of 14 races on the grass.  He will look to make it 7 straight SP’s of over 100 in today’s race.  Owner correction hopes that he can make it back to the winners circle after taking the last race off.  His last three races have been an allowance, listed stakes, and Grade II.  He managed to win the allowance and listed stakes with SP’s of 102, and 103.  He then ran fourth in the Grade II with an SP of 106.  In the saddle today is jockey H. McLean, and he will try to make it back to the winners circle on this 7/1 shot.

PP7.  Before we finish up the card today we take a look at the seven horse Blazing Nobility.  This is a five year old horse out of the megablaze stable.  This guy had been running good up until his last race where he was pulled up and ended the Grade II race with a 59 SP.  Megablaze would not comment on the status of Blazing Nobility, but word was going around that they thought this guy had chipped a bone in the leg.  Thankfully that was not true, and he is back looking to improve that 113 SP performance three races back.  With 22 turf races under his belt, he has 5 wins.  The jockey today will be R. Truitt and the odds on Blazing Nobility are 8/1.

PP8.  In the final post position today we have K’s Paramaribo.  This five year old horse had been running well winning four in a row with SP’s of 104, 103, 111, and 112.  His last race though broke the winning streak as the good turf forced just a 104 SP seventh place finish.  This guy has 19 races and 9 wins on the turf.  Owner matarile hopes that he can pick up a graded win today.  Riding K’s Paramaribo today will be jockey R. Wilkinsonboro.  Anyone with that last name should receive an award for having to spell it!  The odds makers like the horse jockey pair though as they have put the two at 5/1.

Well today’s field looks to be a dandy with any one of these horses having a shot to take their trips to the winners circle.  I think that it will be a close race, and I would not be surprised to see just about every one of these horses make it into the 100 SP range.  If I had to chose a trifecta, I would go with the 2, 5, 8 combo.  That about wraps it up here from France.  I want to thank you for reading my article today.  This has been Dylan with your pre race look into the Ted Nugent Classic.  From all of us here at the BTB we would like to thank you and remind you that for all of your sim race coverage head on over to the BTB forum.  Thanks again and good luck, or should I say Encore merci et bonne chance
