Fabman is life of the party!

By ITCH

Fabman was the life of the party here in New Orleans in Week 4610, sponsoring a raucous Mardi Gras celebration in honor of FAST TRACK JONES, winner of the Grade 2 $500,000 All Saints Handicap.

With a winner’s share of half a million, Fabman could afford to sponsor the fun. He was ecstatic and especially proud of the ride given by jockey B Rayam.

As expected, Mtk and Otis’ WHERE DO I SIGN sought the early lead from the far outside. Down the backstretch, Rayam faced a tough decision: Fight for the rail or let his opponent cross over. Rayam let him go, and patiently waited behind the leader until the turn for home.

Then, it was Fast Track Jones’ turn to go by on the outside. The 5yo son of Smarty Jones had plenty in the tank to go clear and never was threatened by the second-place runner: Punter34’s DIRRTY. That one ran on nicely to be second, and had to make a sustained run to get by Where Do I Sign, who was third.

With the victory, Fast Track Jones vaults into the Top 50 of the handicap division. This was a training coup by one of the Sim veteran trainers. It’s not easy to take down a Grade 2 with the No. 11 qualifier but Fab and Fast Track Jones pulled it off.
