| ONE FOR THE AGES | 10/1 | WILD AGAIN x MECKE x BROOD BRUSH Dirt Sprint rank: 1027 Fresh from having his picture taken in the winner’s circle in Wyoming .His 4yo season so far has been a bit hit and miss. Topping three figures and dropping them again. In his last race over 6f, he finished in 7th place. Since then he has run over distances form 6,5f to 9 f with a turf race thrown in for good measure.
| PHOEBUS | 14/1 | PROSPER FAGER x STORM CAT x ICECAPADE Dirt Sprint rank: 1295 With 2 wins over 6 f this year, Phoebus could be a force to be reckoned with, if he can get his speeds worked out. I can’t see him making an impact on the race. Should finish midfield.
| KIRPA’S KACIKE | 7/2 | A.P.INDY x NORTHERN DANCER x SEATTLE SLEW Dirt Sprint rank: 404 A resident from far away Dubai. The climate and the conditions have been doing wonders to this 3yo and not forgetting Jockey S.L.Ledwith, who has partnered KIRPA’S KACIKE in his last five races. Looking at his PPs his ideal distance seems to be 7f.So is this race to short or will he be able to use his speeds to come home first?
| BIG RED BRUSH | 5/1 | BROAD BRUSH x SECRETARIAT x DAMASCUS Dirt Sprint rank: 35 A well travelled veteran of stakes races. After finishing 8th in this Kentucky Breeder’s Bowl GII, he came back to win 2 stakes back to back both with Triple figures. He has started to drop off in his last couple of races. Has the dreaded Wear and tear factory started to kick in?
| ROYFLY’S YEAR | 11/1 | EVENT OF THE YEAR x NUREYEV x SEATTLE SLEW Dirt Sprint rank: 241 Another international runner, just back from winning Down Under, he ‘s back in Europe, where his connections are hoping he can carry on his winning ways. All he has to do now is go faster…
| RUN LOGAN RUN | 19/1 | CARSON CITY x RIVERMAN x NORTHERN DANCER Dirt Sprint rank: 815 A moderately fast 5yo, he didn’t like the stakes company last time out, finishing well up the field. No triples so far this year, Could this be the race to break the speed barrier?
| PAIS VASCO | 9/2 | FORESTRY x ALYDAR x BLUSHING GROOM (fr) Dirt Sprint rank: 175 He posted a 101 SP in the SI’AMIGO STAKES GII, but it was only good for 6th place. Since then he has won an allowance over 7f while running his best of a 105 sp. Will he be able to fend of the other contenders, in this shorter race?
| HENNESSY TITANS | 20/1 | HENNESSY x MR.PROSPECTOR x NODOUBLE Dirt Sprint rank: 198 A very good little sprinter. He has stated loud and clearly, that races over 7f are just not his thing, at the moment. Freshly flown in from Dubai, where he has just won an allowance race .How much the flight has affected him, time will tell. A colt to watch…
| SIBI | 6/1 | CAPOTE x SEPTIME CIEL x SHARPEN UP Dirt Sprint rank: 89 Another fine 3yo colt, he has won once this year Placed 3rd in his last outing, posting his season best of 106 sp. If he carries on, on this path, we will be hearing more from him, in winner’s circles all over the world.
| LUGUBRIOUS | 9/1 | TALE OF THE CAT x IRISH RIVER x DEHERE Dirt Sprint rank: 711 With a couple of routes under his belt, LUGUBRIOUS has decided that his not yet ready for longer runs. Dropping back under the 7,5f might produce some exciting results. The race could be over before he realises.
| HUMM DINGER | 15/1 | DEPUTY MINISTER x UNBRIDLED x BLOOD ROYAL Dirt Sprint rank: 1124 Constant middle distance runner, this race could be a little short for HUMM DINGER. Just back from Sweden and Japan, were he ran in stakes over 10f,which didn’t really produce results. A bit early for Wear and tear to kick in, so it could just be the added distance that lead to his undoing.
| SERIOUSLY SEPARATE | 47/1 | BLUE BEACON x WHAT LUCK x HULA CHIEF II Dirt Sprint rank: 947 A 6 yo bargain breed, a gamely runner trying hard to keep up with the company he’s running with. He is in over his head in this race, which is reflected, in his odds.
| UNBRIDLED VIEW | 16/1 | DISANT VIEW x UNBRIDLED x DIXIE LAND BRASS Dirt Sprint rank: 794 The 37th ranked turf sprinter. He has some experience on dirt as a2yo. In this his dirt debut as a 3yo, he seem well matched with some of the other runners. If he can speed up, we could all be in for a surprise. |
A turf sprinter tangling with dirt runners over 6f,this will be an interesting race.
The main fight for the glory will be between SIBI KIRPA’S KACKIE and PAIS VASCO, with hopefully UNBRIDELED VIEW mixing up the field. Waiting in the wings for the chance ONE FOR THE AGES HENNESSY TITANS and HUMM DINGER are going to do there best to upset the apple cart. PHOEBUS, BIG RED BLUSH will be fending of try’s from RAYFLY’S YEAR, LUGUBRIOUS trying to get in on some of the action.
My tips are 9-11-3-7
