Brake Hill Stakes – G2

Be prepared for Berkshire England, we have only one graded race here this weekend! It is over 14 furlongs on the turf track and it is for fillies and mares that are three years or more. There are 6 strong mares prepared to have a go at this G2 race that have an total award of a few stakes points and also $250,000. The race is called Brake Hill Stakes. Saddle up and lets go!

1. PIA IN THE SKY (9/1)(SKY MESA x GREEN DANCER x PIA STAR):This 5 year old out of Sky Mesa made her first race in three digit speed last time, winning an allowance and that was actually her fifth allowance win in a row. Now she is going for the stakes and graded class which is new to her. She have been winning 13 of her 28 starts so far, but a few of them have been in both claim and starter allowance so its a huge step going from that to a graded stakes. I believe she have a nice chance of winning, but top-3 would be more realistic.

2. BOTJEU THELI (6/1)(DESERT KING x MONTJEU x KINGMAMBO):Not often you see a Desert King sired horse in a graded these days. People are spending more breeding points and credits! This 4 year old was previous owned by the mighty Sabbath, I guess he got tired of this mare and sent her to claim and someone snapped up this horse after that race. She have been winning a few starter allowances after that and also started winning regular allowances the last races. I doubt she have what it takes to be a stakes/graded horse, she haven’t been able to reach three digit speed yet. If she is able to that she have a chance at top-3 in this race!

3. BOMONSSAD (4/1)(MONSUN x SADLER’S WELLS x IRISH RIVER):This horse is breathing route all over, the great Monsun is the sire and she have ds and dds that says there is a lot of distance to her running style. She have made 17 starts in the career so far and won 6 of them. She started around the mile and have later on been given more and more distance! Last race was on 14 furlongs and the result was a first place. This 4 year old will be up for this race and is a candidate of the top-3 and with some improvements she could win as well. I do believe that she would do even better over 16 furlongs, but that is for the future! This will, according to me, be the third horse over the finish line.

4. COSTA DEL SOL (4/1)(ROCK OF GIBRALTAR x CAERLEON x HAIL TO REASON):This 5 year old out of Rock of Gibraltar have made 17 wins in the 37 starts she made, that is a really good record. She started her career at the dirt track, but it was nothing for her, as soon as the trainer saw the potential on turf and also on a bit longer races she have been there only made a few appearances on a shorter track, but she has been really good there as well. So it seems she like races between 8-14 furlongs! The races she made on 14 furlongs have been solid in numbers of speed. This is my outsider for this race, she may win, but considering the last race (probably injured) im a bit unsure about her condition.

5. VAANDA (9/5)(HENNESSY x ALLEGED x NASHUA):This is the only horse that haven’t won in the last three months and she has been resting awhile. Will this do her good, I believe so! She have 10 wins in her 37 starts so far and I do believe there is a few more to come from this 5 year old. She have been racing on longer distances for a long time now and she seems capable from 8 furlongs to 16 so the conditions is good for her. Last race she had a slow performance and she probably got injured in the process, so she is ready for the comeback! According to me she is a top-3 horse and will think that she will be second over the line in this race.

6. K’S KACHET (5/2)(PINE BLUFF x ROBERTO x NORTHERN DANCER):This experienced 8 year old mare out of Pine Bluff have made an amazing 53 starts in her career, she have won 21 of these starts add another 13+6 in places and shows. She started racing 2004, that is a long time ago and she is still competing at stakes and graded level, respect is the word for that! She is coming of four wins in a row, 3 allowances and 1 stakes. She have never won a graded stakes but I think it is time for it now, she have been waiting long enough! This will be the final crown of her career, this is my winner of this race!

This will be a pretty fun race to watch, it seems like the horses are pretty even and some are not that experienced on the distance also. Only one horse is coming into this race without a win in the last three months, but that is more due to the coaching of the horse, so all horses have shown they are capable of winning. I do believe that, out of these six horse, five horses have a really good chance at winning this!

If someone of these horses run 105 in speed they will win! It seems like it could be lower as well, but I guess 1-2 horses will have a bit more speed then the others, for a top-3 position your horse should be performing around 100 and I do believe all horses are capable of that!

This will be the top 3 from my view and I also have my outsider for the race:
1. K’S KACHET
2. VAANDA
3. BOMONSSAD
Outsider. COSTA DEL SOL
