The season proved to be a huge success with over $2.8 million in purse money handed out amongst eleven trainers. Trainer SELURNIVEK finished atop the trainer standings with $920,750 in 61 starts! For those of you not familiar with the Hong Kong Racing Series I encourage you to check out the Hong Kong Racing Clubs racing series page. http://hongkongracingclub.webs.com/racingseries.htm here you will find amazing coverage of the sims greatest racing series! You will need to copy and paste the above address into your browser. Our series runs from September to July with over 30 races last year alone! We expect a significant amount more of carded races for the 2010-2011 season, so please join us! The series is quite costly as one can imagine, so we encourage people to help support us with stables. For those of you who want to join the series you may request one or two blank stables. Your other stables need not support the rez, but your series stables must be in support. We have room for more participants. The series is a great place to earn with horses that otherwise might struggle. We have our own class racing!
Below I want to showcase some of my own personal favorites from the Hong Kong Racing Series 2009-2010 season:
FOURTH FLOOR
(ELVSTROEM (AUS) x CONQUISTADOR CIELO x ACCIPTER)
Career 7- 5-1-0 $213,120
This colt started his career in Hong Kong before running in stakes outside of the series for TROTTER. The series has an exemption that allows runners to make starts in stakes races outside of Hong Kong. The three year old posted a 105 speed figure last time out to finish fourth in a grade three race in New York. He won the Hong Kong Racing Series first leg of the Triple Crown in February. The Triple Crown mirrors the real life Hong Kong version.
TAI PO
(RAKTI (GB) LAMMTARRA x HERBAGER)
Career 8-3-4-1 $282,285
Champion trainer SELURNIVEK struck gold with this RAKTI colt. He won the HKRC Sunny Power Sprint January. He then tried his hooves in the speed series on the turf for the HKRC Queens Silver Jubilee where he finished a strong second. After two solid finishes on the turf following the Jubilee he tackled the HKRC Dirt Sprint Championship. His impressive 97 speed figure victory in that race wrapped up a great first season on the circuit.
FRENCH HAVEN
(FRENCH DEPUTY x GULCH x SADLER’S WELLS)
Career 7-4-2-0 $174,360
Another dirt sprinter and rival of ROME ON FIRE who finished second to TAI PO in the HKRC Dirt Sprint Championship. This SELURNIVEK trained colt truly is a top class performer! He was two year old dirt colt of the year in 2009 edging out ROME ON FIRE.
ROME ON FIRE
(CECCONI x ANABAA x SIR TRISTRAM)
Career 6-2-2-2 $69,160
PEKAYS dirt monster has performed beautifully in dirt sprints. In fact he has never finished out of the money in a dirt sprint. He managed to beat his rival FRENCH HAVEN at a mile, but was bested by FRENCH HAVEN in the seven furlong rematch. You can find a great article about ROME ON FIRE defeating his rival on the racing series homepage titled “ROME ON FIRE MAKES STATEMENT IN HONG KONG MILE!” This colt will be looking to break 100 speed figures in the fall!
DANCING ELEVEN
(DANEHILL DANCER x BE MY GUEST x SIR IVOR)
Career 4-4-0-0 $165,000
This undefeated TROTTER trained colt is a dominant turf sprinter. He posted a brisk 98 speed figure last time out in the HKRC SHA TIN VASE. The three year old now has three consecutive starts with speeds over 90.
IVYTON
(SPINNING WORLD x LINAMIX x VALDEZ)
Career 8-4-4-0 $305,870
It is simply a fact that trainer VIENTO has a certified monster here in IVYTON. The three year old colt is nearly unstoppable in turf sprints. This clone of VISIONARIO could play a strong factor in next seasons speed series. You can read about IVYTON’s glory in last year’s speed series in the article titled “A SPECIAL DAY FOR HONG KONG RESIDENCY”.
FOUR ASIAN TIGERS
(GOLAN x TIGHTS x HIS MAJESTY)
Career 9-2-5-0 $146,272
Not all series runners are royally bred or need to be as FOUR ASIAN TIGERS proves. This modestly bred three year old filly is known for a devastating turn of foot in turf sprints. She earns well whether it is class four racing or open competition.
The series features over 200 runners of which many are modestly bred. Some are regally bred like potential emerging stars BASALT MONOLITH (Giant’s Causeway x Danehill) and MARVELOUS MAYHEM (RED RANSOM x DIESIS). The fact is whether a runner is regally bred or modestly bred they usually find a niche in the series they can succeed in. Class racing breaks up runners based on recent speed figures making it so a runner that can’t break an 80 speed figure can easily earn 50k or more in a season. The top class runners are free to run outside of Hong Kong in stakes, but also earn extremely well right at home in the series! We race horses with AUS and NZ tags as well as clones of real life Hong Kong runners. Every stables must atleast be made up of half clones.
In short we are welcoming new trainers to join us for the 2010-2011 season. Now is a great time to start prepping your runners. If you’re interested please check out our website. Leave us a message in our forum. You can expect to hear back from us within the week. We even have aggressive horse stocking for players who show commitment, as well as excellent rewards system for those that finish top five in series races! Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2009-2010 season. Congratulations to champion trainer SELURNIVEK! We look forward to you visiting us soon. Thank You
