Four vying for the Prince’s Crown
Six and one half furlongs
Firm Turf
$55,000
All horses, 2 years old
Test time for these three of the four runners in this event. The question to be answered is how will they respond to a turf racing surface? One of the entries- CRAFTY N’ WILD has taken the same test and graded out well, so will anyone be looking over his shoulder?
As for the 2005 Field for The Prince S. Special:
PP1 | BIGVADVODODANCER | Owner-northway | Jockey-C Wall | Odds 6/1 |
Pulpit x Sunday Silence
After two impressive races wins on the dirt, he will be tested on the grass for the first time. He has never trailed in where on the track, so expect him to try to duplicate this feat. The distance is a step upward, but he has shown signs of staying strong to the end, so the challenge will be more of the racing surface than the distance.
PP2 | PATRICK’S PAL | Owner-natrap | Jockey-T Renfoe | Odds-8/5 |
He has already been in five events, and comes in after a disappointing performance. This is his first try on the grass, but a strong performance on a sloppy track may indicate a liking to the softer surface of turf.
PP3 | RICOCHET RABBIT | Owner-*Computer | Jockey-I Spriggs | Odds-3/1 |
Dehere x Wild Again
Computer- owned, poor performance on grass in last trip, and still 3/1 odds. Does all this indicate a poor field, or several unknowns among this small group of runners.
PP4 | CRAFTY N’ WILD | Owner-supe13 | Jockey-K Naber | Odds-8/5 |
Crafty Prospector x
Shares the morning line favorite role with PATRICK’S PAL. He has won on the turf, and was impressive in a runner-up performance LTO on grass. Having proven himself on grass, he will get much of the attention from the betting public.
My selections are: CRAFTY N’ WILD PATRICK’S PAL RICOCHET RABBIT
