Great Plains entry – 6yo scratch bred mare by Ghostzapper.  A fantastic claim by her new owner who had the insight of seeing some late maturing in this mare.  Of course, luck had a lot to do with it as there probably was 3,000 claims put in J  Anyway, the mare started to show her true self late in her 3yo season.  Since then she is a multiple G1 winner and is sitting in the number two spot for 12f and beyond in her division.  18 wins and almost 3mil in earnings certainly make her the class of the field.  It would be hard, even for a long shot punter like me to bet against her here.

GRsimsters entry – 5yo mare out of a “G” rated mare and sired by Unbridled’s Song.  The mare has been living it up at 12f allowance events lately.  She has one listed victory to her credit, but this will be her defining moment if she can summon up classy breeding.  It’s hard to not include her in this event, even though she hasn’t proved much in the way of stakes races.  Being as hot as she is right now should give her an opportunity to show what she’s got.  Good call to enter her here as the field isn’t that strong.

Non-resident entry – 4yo filly out of an “E” rated mare that really hasn’t produced any noted progeny.  She is sired by Vindication, who was one of the sim’s best while available.  The filly has been to three different barns so far as she was and still is, a hot commodity in the claiming ranks.  Ne only has to look at her recent form to see the maturity that has occurred recently.  An off track would have been in her favor; but alas, no bad weather here.  She certainly shows signs of becoming a marathon threat judging from her closing effort in a previous 13f event.  She’s the longest shot in the field, but must be respected in her present form.

Ireland entry – 5yo scratch bred mare by Mine Shaft.  She went through her conditions at a timely pace and competed in listed stakes soon after.  There is no doubt of her ability to go the distance as she has won multiple listed events going long.  Two of her wins have come with 100+SP’s, so she qualifies as a legit entry here.  Her two previous tries in graded events leave much to be decided, but she’s in good condition at present with her last two starts bringing home second place finishes.  Look for her to break sharply and try to wire the field.

Non-resident entry – 5yo mare out of a “G” rated mare of good blood.  Sired by Woodman, who in his sim life produced many a graded winner.  This gal was a hot commodity in her 2yo season by firing a win 1st time out and picking up a G3 win early.  Since then she has had a respectable record of listed stakes wins and some minor finishes in graded events.  She’s had only one race over 10f in her starts, so this will be a fairly new experience for her.  It would appear she has some stamina; and with the short field, she may cause some trouble here.

Benelux entry – 8yo scratch bred mare by FuPeg.  This will be the 56th start for this matriarch.  She has always been fairly solid in allowance and listed stakes events.  With her breeding one would have expected more.  She doesn’t quite have the killer instinct; as she has 15 seconds vs her 9 wins.  The one statistic that stands out in her PP’s is the fact that she only has one race in which she hit 100SP.  This probably is due to her entering classic to marathon races.  She likes the front; so she should be the pace or near it.  Possible ITM finish.
