Snapshots
Jeff writes so well, I think I will let him do his own introduction. He is one of the longest tenured players and I can remember him teaching me how to grill asparagas either in the chat or by IM. It was wonderful and I told all my friends. Thank you, Jeff and here is your snapshot.
“I have played the game since week 292 and I don’t think I’ve missed a week since. I started the Sim Eclipse Awards with Kingab and the first two years, we wrote almost all the stories and set up the nominations and voting ourselves, with a little help from Snowflake and Roys. At one time, I was the longest tenured SimForm/BTB writer, about 5 consecutive years of covering the NY track. I was a long time contributor to Iago’s Forum and when breeding started, I had and still continue the first and longest running breeding advice link, first housed at the old NY site and now at DelPenn. I am an original member of the Super Stables and frankly love it that very few people understand what we do, that we have been able to sustain it’s success for 5 years and afc and topicount are the greatest partners to have in the project. I have been very lucky in the game, winning the Derby, Middle Jewel, the New Yorker, the Travelers twice, the Arc, the Sand Castle Classic, Breeder’s Bowl race and a couple of Eclispe’s but it did take me a hell of a long time to win that first graded stake with Midnite Kat, who I believe was the first homebred graded winner in the sim. At one time, I owned real racehorses, and was lucky enough that among the 17 horses we owned, Roanoke was a Gd1 and multiple graded stake winner and Tee’s Prospect was a Gd2 winner and ran 4th in the Travers. I grew up in NY and attended the Belmont Stakes for 20 consecutive years before I moved to Texas and got to see Secretariat, Slew and Affirmed win their Triple Crowns. This is the greatest game in the world, I’ve made great friends from all over the globe, even gotten to meet quite a few and I don’t know what I would do on Saturdays without it.”
