11/1

GRsimsters – The filly is out of a “G” rated mare who has 3 progeny with stakes wins (including this gal).  The mare raced only 12 times with two wins and was a sprinter on turf.  The filly’s sire, Dansili, doesn’t add much to the stamina factor as he is basically a speed sire.  With that in mind, the filly will have to go out quickly and hope she’s not challenged.

Independent – this is the 1st progeny of a “C” rated mare that had 20 starts with three W’s on the grass, one of which was G3.  This filly’s sire is North Light who adds a bit of speed/stamina to the mix.  She’s a closer with some nice moves in all of her starts.  Most of which came too late to get up.  Her last mile event had her making up ground and she could have used today’s distance to get the job done.  Great shot here at picking up a good check.

GRsimsters – Scratch bred to Artie Schiller, this filly has a G3 place finish in her last out to show some class.  She looks however, like she has taken on too much of her sire’s traits and is built for sprints.  There is much speed in this event and her stamina will be tested.

EAAA racing – filly out of a “B” rated mare that hasn’t produced much till now.  Mare made her living in turf sprints and was a good mix with sire Mineshaft to get some distance genes.  After three wins on dirt, this filly has shown some nice potential on the lawn as attested in her last two starts.  SP’s aren’t record breakers, but she seems to do what she has to, to win.

Alpine Turf Club – filly out of a “G” rated mare that has one other SW progeny.  The mare loved to go long on the grass.  Point Given is a good match here as sire.  Although PG is mainly a dirt sire, he has a lot of speed/stamina mix.  This filly is very good at long sprints and usually that relates to being able to handle much more.  We will look for her to lay off the pace a bit and make a move on the turn.

Ireland – stable name Omally, how could it be based anywhere else? J  Mare rated “H” and sire Grandera basically speed, doesn’t add up in this.  With a high SP67 on dirt, this filly is way over her head.

Alpine Turf Club – Scratch bred to Invincible Spirit and great DD and DDS, this filly has shown her class in last two outs.  She now has to prove she can handle a large field of some more experienced steeds.  Although her racing lines are very neat, she will have pressure here to keep her cool for the extra distance.  Great test for her future.

Minnesota Downs – out of a “G” rated mare that has produced some useful runners, this filly by Beat Hollow has won her last two events in 4 horse fields.  Her SP’s have decreased in her last three outs and usually that doesn’t bode well.  Not that she doesn’t have any chance here, but she will need a turn around if she is to be a factor.  Perhaps, she only won by what she had to, and there is a lot of reserve left…stay tuned.

Dandenong Rangers – scratch bred filly by Sakhee…Three starts with two wins at today’s distance.  Very impressive!  No need to speculate here as to whether she can handle the turns.  Trainers only concern will be how she will run the event given the fact she likes the front.  There is quite a bit of speed in this, and it would be tough if a speed duel occurred.  However, she looks up to the task.

DelPenn – out of an “A” rated mare that bagged a mil+ in her career on the grass.  The mare had four G wins, three of which were G1’s.  Sired by Pivotal, one of the premier sires right now, this filly has was primed in her last out.  A “walk in the park win” against allowance company in her last after a 3 month rest, she is now ready to show her wares at the extra distance today.  Interested in seeing how she comes out of the gate.

GRsimsters – scratch bred to King Mambo and wonderful DD, and DDS, this gal had a blowout race in her last at a mile.  She improved her SP by 12 pts., which gives us wonder as to a “bounce” factoring in.  If not, this gal has to be the one to beat in this event.

10/1

CR racers – out of a “C” rated mare and sired by Cacique (who has 2 graded winners so far), this filly should have no problem with this event.  She’s coming off two nice wins and her breeding suggests she can run all day.  Again, we have a front runner/close to the pace type with a race full of speed.  Her jock or setting should have her about 2 lengths back for max results.

Independent – scratch bred to Dubawi.  This filly is steadily improving with each race.  Although she hasn’t been at a mile as of yet, her long sprinting wins give us the idea she should be able to handle this.  Outside post isn’t a problem as she is a fairly deep closer.  That being said, she fits this event like a snug glove.  All she has to do of course, is to improve her SP’s a bit more.

JITTERBUG GIRL(KY)

T Ranger

9/1

DelPenn – scratch bred by Unbridled’s Song.  This gal just started to jitterbug in her 1st out on grass last out.  She’s a closer by nature and her last out shows some real potential.  This one could be the “sleeper” in this event.  Her sire is one of the preemies in the sim, and her bottom lines aren’t too shabby.

All in all a very nice field here.  Speed seems to be the determining factor as to how this race develops.  Will all the front runners go out and kill each other off, or will some trainers try to teach their steeds to back off some?  Interesting race to watch…don’t miss it, even if you don’t have an entry.
