1 | 28/1 | (MN) – Langfuhr sired auction buy that just finished conditions this year and can run on both surfaces. Competitive in allowance company, but will be hard pressed to compete in such a cutthroat environment.
2 | THE WITCHING HOUR(JPN) | 6/1 |
(GR) – Fantastic Light filly with 9 wins in only 15 starts. Shows no fear on the lead in graded company and will dare anyone any horse to take her on. Will be flying out of the gate for GR and have plenty of back up with her sister entries in case she tires.
3 | SHEZA MANIAC | 11/1 |
(GR) – Medaglia D’oro mare that probably likes it a bit longer. However, she’s a closer and a good team player for picking up a placing in this event.
4 | CONDEMNATION | 8/1 |
(GR) – Kingmambo sired mare that started coming into her own the latter part of ’07. Has one G3 win this past April and has been competitive in her other graded events. She is another very good team entry for GR in the late stage of the race.
5 | QUEEN ROID( | 10/1 |
(MN) – Azamour filly that still has her training shoes on as far as experience. She looks to be the real thing as she gets more experience. She’ll be running in what appears to be her toughest task to date; and we’ll have to see how she reacts.
6 | MISS GALINDA | 99/1 |
(GR) – Out of Place mare that appears to be just that. However, credit is due to the rez for being fair to its residents and giving her a shot to compete in the yearly Smackdown.
7 | 8/1 |
(DP) – Named after Dina of old. Most youngsters won’t remember her, but she was a fantastic entertainer and hosted one of the LPGA biggest golf tournaments. My best sim animal at present and I hope she shows up.
8 | STRICKEN | 5/1 |
(DP) – Dynaformer mare that does her best running at 8.5 to 9f. She will be the pacesetter for this team and hopefully sets up an avalanche at the wire.
9 | RAISE | 15/1 |
(MN) – Sakhee matriarch of the race who appears to be one of the midfield runners in this. She’s getting a little long in the tooth, so we’ll have to see if she has one big race left in her.
10 | LUFTHANSA HEIST(KY) | 11/1 |
(DP) – Lightly raced Kingmambo filly that wins her last two outs for fun. Has a lot of potential, but will find this event a lot harder than her last two. However, one of DP’s hopeful.
11 | HIGH DRAWS( | 16/1 |
(MN) – High Chaparral filly that appears one notch lower in a field that has graded winners. She’s a lovely animal to watch, but appears at the moment to need that razor edge she flashed back in Nov. of ’07.
12 | DREAMING OF LOVE | 10/1 |
(DP) – Everyone knows this matriarch of times past. Multi graded winner that still has a lotta kick left in her shoes. She would love to see these youngsters get too rambunctious up front so she could waltz by in the late stages.
13 | BAD KICKS(AUS) | 14/1 |
(GR) – Big threat filly who is coming off a G1 victory. She used that as her NW4L race, so what can we expect here as she is so full of herself at present? Big odds for a hot horse…no?
14 | MOSTLY IN BROWN( | 6/1 |
(DP) – Beaten by the previous horse in her last. SP’s declining in her last 3 outs. Can she recover her winning ways in time for this war? Lots of questions to be answered here.
15 | NOT GUILTY CH(KY) | 29/1 |
(MN) – If this were dirt, I’d give this lady a higher mark. Her recent stints on the grass have not been of this caliber. She has been tried and found quilty J
As far as points go in this event, I reluctantly give the edge to GR, with DP second, and MN third.
