LEMON CREAM PIE(KY)

S Lowracer

7/1

Independent stable sending out a very nice colt by Lemon Drop Kid.  The “Kid” has 10 graded winners and is know to have later maturing progeny.  Two races back this colt won nicely in the Pan Americana G2 at Fla.  Loves today’s distance and usually hangs back 5 lengths or so before making a move in the pace setters.  He should have a nice go at it today with the speed in this.  He had a good prep after a 2 month rest in a mile allowance at today’s track.  Very much a contender.

Another independent entering former 3yo champion Cortez.  Fantastic 3yo season on the grass beating some big names at the time.  Picked up a G2 win as a 4yo and is looking for better fortune this year.  Sired by High Chaparrel who has 14 graded progeny to date.  Has been hoofing it in longer events recently, but now drops back to the distance that made him a huge threat in his 3yo season.  Fairly versatile in his running style; and if he’s on top of his game, should be in the mix somehow.

Representing the NRC is this Smarty Jones colt.  Last four races have produced some awesome SP’s and the colt has won two listed in a row.   Now for the ultimate test..G1 level.  He should, by the way he’s in form at present be a threat here.  Sire Smarty Jones has given 13 progeny graded status…mostly on dirt and according to stats not at this distance.  The mare holds the key to success here as she was green blooded and loved distance.  Something always to keep in mind.

From the powerful GRsimsters comes this awesome Awesome Again colt.  Probably one of the hottest sires in the sim at present.  Another sire that statistically throws 75% dirt runners.  Colts last 10 outs have resulted in 7 wins and 3 seconds.   On a roll and going for a 4peat, with 2 G1’s looking like a good possibility.  Can go for the lead or stalk in this, and look good doing so.  No problem writing this colt is a contender.

EWC entry by the pyeman.  Lightly raced 5yo (is that possible?), who broke his maiden in a claimer and hasn’t seen one since.  Has one listed win and cashed checks in a couple of graded races.  The horse appears to like it at around 10f but has produced some results in longer at lesser competition.  May try for the lead in this, but will need a better closing kick to survive late rushes.

Blazing Saddles entry.  Colt by Red Bullet was running for a $5,000 tag last summer.  He can get the distance but has never seen the likes of these.  Likes the front, but probably won’t get a sniff.

RASH entry by stoners who also has the #13 horse.  Although bred to be a champion, this scratch bred 5yo has been one of the many well bred so-so’s.  A nice allowance horse that can fire once in a while at sprint distances.  As name suggests, this guy will need to smuggle something illegal to be competitive here.

Great Plains entry was claimed last out for $2,000.  A steal at the price.  A very nice mare (Point Given x Alzao x Unbridled) for the future who has had success at the allowance level.  She’s much better on dirt and also is a sprinter/miler by nature.

EAAA entry sired by Palace Music who has 3 graded progeny.  Picked up by present owner for a $150,000 tag and money well spent.  Has run three 100+ SP’s in his last four outs for new owner at higher levels than previously.  A very nice future prospect with only 20 starts.  He will want the front in this, but there will be competition.  Could be a big break through if on top of his game.

NRC entry recently picked up in the auction for $825,000.  Still a NW3L, and never further than 9.5f, new owner sees potential in this Dehere sired colt.  If this test fails, it would only seem natural to get him back on dirt for a couple of tries.  Sire loves the brown stuff and so does the mare.

Another entry by the powerful GRsimsters.  The colt is already a two time graded winner at the distance.  Eight graded progeny for the sire (Rock Hard Ten).  Coming into this after a nice 3 length victory in the G2 Keenland Mirror meet, the colt who already has amassed $2.3 mil, is looking fit.  May stalk in this, but is just as capable laying back.  Big threat here.

Great Plains entry sired by Ratki, who as of yet hasn’t produced much.  The name implies this animal is neither male nor female, so if bred in the future, we have to wonder at the progeny.  As far as performance goes, the colt has a listed win and has gone through conditions easily.  It appears the saddle slipped in his last out after sitting close to the pace for a half mile.  This colt shows some nice potential what with the stamina influence at DS.  If the last out was really an equipment problem, he’s still on fire from his previous start.

The second RASH entry by stoners.  The 6yo is by far the best progeny of sire Tactical Cat.  With $7.6 mil in earnings and 12 graded wins, this horse has to be considered for future HOFer.  And he ain’t done yet!  From 10 to 12f he’s always a threat, and he’s one in here.  No need to look for him early, if he’s on his game, you’ll see a grey flash about the 1/8th pole.
