Slaughter Rescue Brings Over A Million Dollars
Slaughter Rescue Brings Over A Million Dollars
Auction 3474 – Due to watching extended coverage of the Kentucky Derby yesterday day and then going out to the local arena last night so I could watch our local ice hockey team, The Sundogs, win game two of the CHL President’s Cup Final, this will be an abbreviated version of the Sim horse auction. Now, no tossing your hats in the air, but I really only had time to drop by the Sales office and pick up a copy of what happened on Saturday. So here goes….
Only seven horses went for a million dollars or more and three of those were sold by the Greenapp conglomerate and all went to the same person, Erasmus, who paid exactly one million for each one of them. Sometimes the finer points of stable transfers escape me. The other four will be mentioned below. The Stc trainers are buying less these days and purchased a total of two horses for $3.00. The old guys did much better and six of the oldies went for more than a dollar, including the Pole2pole consignee # 76548

The Millionaires:
The sale topper this week was hip number #103460, Lemuria who sold for $3,500,001. Consigned by Glenys123, Lemuria is a 5 YO dark bay mare by Storm Cat out of the Theatrical mare Broad Wool. Broad Wool had only a maiden win before fracturing her knee and being retired. She has produced three foals to race of which two are winners and won is graded stakes placed.
Rescued from the slaughter pen by
Northern Rule # 21321 is a big raw boned, 3YO bay filly with black points. She is by Kingston Rule out of the Northern Victory mare Spain Fisherman who has two foals to race with her only winner being Northern Rule. She won easily at first asking, happily splashing over the “good” track to earn an 88 speed figure in a $25,000 maiden claim. Dave50 consigned this undefeated filly and Bryanj79 paid $1,200,000.00 to take her home.
Last but not least is # 161760 The Lawman, a 3 YO chestnut colt by Cats And Dogs out of an Alflora mare. He has made two starts and has not earned a penny but Manamou01 was willing to pay $1,000,001.00 for this $13,500 claimer consigned by Bung3. Hmmmm…. Was probably a stable transfer but I couldn’t prove it so he gets space.
That’s it for this week. Sorry for the shortened version but I will be back in force for the next few weeks until I take my summer vacation from Memorial Day to Labor Day while live racing goes on in my town.
