G1, Breeders’ Bowl Turf
California – Saturday, October 31, 2026 – 3:00 PM EST – Race ID 3675126
Breeders’ Bowl Turf – Grade I, $3,000,000 – 12 Furlongs, Firm Turf
This is the Breeders’ Bowl Turf Grade I at California going a mile and a half on firm turf for three million dollars. There are four G1 winners at 12 furlongs in the last three months are in here, and the Hall of Famer Modern War Tactics is back. Twenty horses made the cut for this race which includes a lone filly that will take on the nineteen boys in the field. This field of horses is stacked with quality, and it will take a good handicapper to find the winner at the wire that will get a trip to the winner’s circle to collect their trophy and share of this $3 million dollar purse. The morning line odds and post positions have been set for this race so let us now take a preview of the twelve horses that will make the start this Saturday in the G1, Breeders’ Bowl Turf in California.

He was nineteenth last year in this Breeders’ Bowl Turf November 1st at 12 furlongs by twenty-one with a 102, same distance. Fourth September 20th in the Timberland Lodge G3 at 12 furlongs by six and three quarters with a 102, same distance. CPU 1467. He has not had a graded win since August of 2025 and will need to find a little extra effort than last year’s performance in the Breeders’ Bowl Turf representing The Mecca residency.
2. UNI KVASIR – 11/1
Owner: daniel – Breeder: daniel3 – Foaled in France. By SIYOUNI out of AUSTRALIA out of MONSUN.

Second September 19th in the Europe Classic G1 at 12 furlongs by two and a quarter with a 110, same distance. CPU 1585. That 116 win at 12 furlongs is top shelf. He had a nice second place finish last time in Germany at the distance. He needs to show up again here in California representing the European Union Racing Organization.
3. MONAGHAN BOY – 7/1
Owner and Breeder: twoyearold – Homebred, foaled in Ireland. By INVINCIBLE SPIRIT out of MONTJEU out of DANEHILL.

Won the Jolly Summer Cup G1 November 15th, 2025 at 10 furlongs by two and three quarters with a 116. CPU 1600 max. He is one of the senior citizens in the field, but do not let that fool you. He is well rested and has two big wins in a row as he heads to California to make the start representing The Mecca residency.
4. JET SET KAT – 52/1
Owner: katpackfarms – Breeder: francua4 – Foaled in Japan. By CONTRAIL out of KITTEN’S JOY out of AFFIRMED.

Second August 2nd in the Big Red Stakes G1 at 10 furlongs by a length with a 106. CPU 1118. At 52/1 he is the longest shot on breeding. Two starts back he would win at the distance. He likes to be up front in the early going and that is where I would expect to see him out of the gate representing the Empire State Racing residency.
5. SQUINT – 17/1
Owner and Breeder: therealscoobi – Homebred, foaled in Ireland. By DARK ANGEL out of DANSILI out of DUBAWI.
Seven-year-old roan horse, 21 starts, 5 wins, $247,550, all turf. Stakes winner, claim horse.

Fifth last out in the I Can’t Rhyme G3 September 19th at 10 furlongs by two and three quarters with a 110, same turf. CPU 1515. He has never won at 12 furlongs in the past two seasons and will need to prove he can go the distance when he makes the start representing the Orphan Racing residency.
6. MAPLE WAY – 9/1
Owner: kagawa23 – Breeder: canada5 – Foaled in Japan. By JUST A WAY out of KITTEN’S JOY out of DALAKHANI.

CPU 1600 max. That is 113, 116, 115 in three wins at 12 furlongs this year. He has had several nice runs at the distance over the course of the past two seasons. He needs to back up that win in his most recent start when he heads to the turf representing the GR Simsters residency.
7. DAIWANDOR – 23/1
Owner: alibilane69 – Breeder: oakridge – Foaled in Japan. By DAIWA MAJOR out of GALILEO out of DYNAFORMER.

He has never won at 12 furlongs, fifth last year at 12 furlongs in the Last Groom T Turf Stayer by seven and a quarter with a 102. He has two prior 12f starts in the past two seasons. He would hit the boards in one of those races and flounder in the other. He likes to be at or near the front in the early going and could challenge early representing The Mecca residency.
8. NIGHT’S CAVALRY – 15/1
Owner: alibi235 – Breeder: super1 – Foaled in Great Britain. By DUBAWI out of GALILEO out of GIANT’S CAUSEWAY.

Fifth last out in the Coalminer Cup G1 September 19th at 12 furlongs by seven and three quarters with a 106, same distance. CPU 1600 max, tag $1k. Failing to get a hit on the boards last time at the distance makes him questionable in this weekend’s start when he heads over to the turf to the cheers of an excited crowd.
9. SAMMY DOUBLES DOWN – 8/1
Owner: givensunday – Breeder: samwich77 – Foaled in Great Britain. By DUBAWI out of GIANT’S CAUSEWAY out of KRIS S.

Second August 1st in the Sword Swallower G1 at 12 furlongs by four and three quarters with a 110, same distance, and third September 20th in the Classic Turf G1 at 12 furlongs by three and three quarters with a 110, same distance. CPU 1600 max. This horse has been very competitive the past two seasons at this 12 furlong distance that helped in getting that $5M badge. He could strike again here on Saturday when he heads out at post time representing the GR Simsters residency.
10. BIG NIGHT THUNDER – 18/1
Owner: seabeast1 – Breeder: seasharkmatty – Foaled in New York. By BIG BROWN out of NIGHT OF THUNDER out of SEA THE STARS.

CPU 1542. Coming in with those two wins at the distance and with his favorite jockey, D. Raymond taking the mount he maybe a little underrated in the morning line when he heads out of the paddock to the cheers of an excited crowd.

He won the New Zealand Darby G1 February 21st at 12 furlongs on good by five and a quarter with a 118, same distance – that 118 at 12 furlongs is best figure at 12 furlongs in the field tied with his own. Won the Spring Cup G1 April 5th at 16 furlongs by a length and three quarters with a 105, and won the Freer Stakes G3 August 2nd at 13 furlongs by four with a 112. Fifth last year in this Breeders’ Bowl Turf November 1st at 12 furlongs by five with a 115, same distance. CPU 1449. This horse has picked up five wins at the distance of the wet turf but the expected rain in California is not going to cooperate for him when he breaks from his gate representing the GR Simsters residency.
13. THUNDER UPTOWN – 19/1
Owner: delpennforever2 – Breeder: xmonster5 – Foaled in Pennsylvania. By UPTOWNCHARLYBROWN out of FRANKEL out of CAERLEON.

CPU 1329.
