Welcome to todays feature from New York, the Grade II Disataf Breeders Bowl Cap for fillies and mares over the extended 7f sprint trip. This is a bit of a specialist trip and a full field of fourteen go to post. The field are split into three goups- the outsiders, the outside chancers and the in with a shouters- and unusually it’s the latter group who are greater in number with five mebers, if you go by the morning line- but what does he know? Lets take a look at the field-
THE OUTSIDERS
INCOMPREHENSIBLE is a five year old with only four wins and has been struggling in stakes. Did win last tome out though but even that 105 sp shouldn’t be enough here.
SEEKING POWER is quite lightly raced but has only two recent allowance wins to her name. Again 105-106 sp’s in stakes or even a grade III is going to be well short here. Needs to improve again by 10 points.
MP JO has won five of eleven and is a three year old with promise but this is too sharp a rise in class against older horses. She will need to raise her sp by 15-18 points to win.
BLACK TY TINSEL has a recent 110 sp in a Grade II but that run stands out like a beacon. Again has some promise but will find these too tough today.
THE OUTSIDE CHANCERS
SPEEDOMETER Has won almost a million and five of her fourteen runs, including a Grade I recently over 6.5f. Only has a 104 sp to land that though and with a best recent sp of 108 in a stakesdoes not look up to this.
BARB’S BABY INSIDE has a 111 sp to win a Grade III recently over 6.5f but again that run stands out like a beacon. Would have to produce that just to reach the third spot here but could sneak a top five.
WAKIWILD has recent sp’s of 109 and 110 but a best run to wina stakes over 8f. Does have a second in a Grade II at this trip but only with a 96 sp. And a second with a 107sp recently but again some 5-8 points improvemet needed to win, could struggle.
FLEETWOOD MIA has sp’s of 112 and 114 in grade I’s recently and won one of those but has nothing of that calibre inher last six. A return to thiose runs will get a top three but anyrthing less will see her out of it.
RAY’S CAUSEWAY Again one recent run, a 112 sp second ina stakes gives her a chance but with most of her other runs being below that she looks set to struggle.
SILVER DESIGNER has been a model of conistancy with a heap of runs between 105-108 recently but does not look to be improving. That sort of sp will probably get a top five but not much more than that.
TREASURE COAST is another rconsistant animal but has not got a recent sp of over 107 and with 40 races under her belt will not be improving now. With so many inconsistant runners here she could sneak a top five at best.
THE IN WITH A SHOUTERS
BLACK GOLD COAL only has fourteen runs for a six year old and has won six. All of those have been in her last eight runs and she has been steadily improving. Her last two runs with sp’s of 112 to win a stakes and Grade III suggest there may still be more to come and she must be a lively threat for at least a top three.
FETISH is quite experienced now and has won six races with three sp’s of 111 in her last four races. She will not have much improvement left and another 111 sp will get her at least a top five and maybe a top three. May need a bit more to find the win though.
STIRLING FORM has been a bit up and down recently, with several sp’s over 110 but several around the 100 mark. This makes her hard to predict- another 112 gets a top five at least, another 99 gets her a last place finish. An enigma- your guess is as good as mine.
CONCLUSION
Not as competative as it first looks, unless your talking about fith place and only two stand out for me. This looks between BLACK GOLD COAL and FETISH with preference fior the former and she still looks to be improving.
