Scratch bred 4yo by Spinning World that has evolved from sprinting to routing and is a graded winner at 10f.  Colt has been competitive with some of the sim’s best last year and has a nice closing kick.  This should be to his advantage in this race which has a number of front runners.  Going 13 panels will be new ground for this colt, but should work to his advantage.  However, one would have to question his dull effort in last, and a downward trend in his last two outs.  If his last was due to bad racing luck and he bounces back to previous form; he will be a horse to reckon with.

Out of an “F” rated mare and sired by Kayf Tara, this lightly raced 4yo is of the “do or die” variety.  Front runner all the way, he will have plenty of early speed competition here.  He has one listed stakes victory at the distance in a 4 horse field.  He certainly won’t have his own way here as he did in that victory.  Colt has the stamina, but would have to come up with a very big race to be in the mix here.

Scratch bred old timer bordering on W&T that never ran in listed till late in his career.  Won his first stakes last out; his 40th break from the gate.  The race wasn’t filled with household names, but kudos to this warrior just the same.  He also topped his best SP ever; and going 14f is a great accomplishment.  Considering his age and a class jump, we wish him the best here.  He certainly has an edge over some in this.

Fort Wood scratch bred here.  Sire has produced only two listed stakes winners in the sim; this 5yo trying to become the 1st graded.  Horse has of yet not found the winner’s circle at a notch lower.  Stretching out in this is not to his style as he has a front runner mentality.  Probably will be in the picture till the turn for home, but will more than likely have reality flashes after that.

Sired by Pulpit, this 6yo is very lightly raced with only 25 starts.  Broke maiden as a late starting 3yo and seems to have a liking for that distance.  As a 4yo he took down a G2 at 10f and just finished 2nd in a G3 at that distance.  Horse has a variety of racing styles that should work to his advantage in this.  Questions linger as to how he will handle the extra distance in this.  We would have to think he should do well here.  His last SP was the best ever, and he appears to be in fine form.  Jock will probably keep him in striking position and try for a move as they straighten out.  Then we will all see what he’s got.

Listed stakes winner at the distance and beyond; this 5yo out of an “H” rated mare is red hot at the moment.  Closing from nine lengths back in his last out, he ran a game 3rd, posting his best SP.  Aside from the aforementioned, his running style had usually been more to the front.  His late move in last, whether it be the jockey’s decision or planned by the trainer; seems to have perked this guy up.  With a top jock in the irons for this, he should be very competitive.  We’re  “expecting” a breakout race here.

Out of a “C” rated mare that hasn’t produced much with this exception.  Sired by King of Kings, this 5yo has yet to complete NW3L.  After a brief stint on the grass early in his career, he has become a listed stakes winner on dirt.  Now he will try to make the switch back to the green stuff after posting a 108SP in last on dirt?  He doesn’t lack for distance, but we are totally confused.  Let’s see; the horse still has conditions, he’s going back to his non preferred surface, and has a poor jock.  I know what this is all about…trainer hails from Ireland and had one too many at the local pub with Techranger, J  Who knows, this may be the secret to success.

Looking to duplicate his older brothers GW ways.  Out of a “G” rated mare available to anyone in the sim, this 4yo will be running in only his 19th race.  Opened some eyes last year as a 3yo and probably was expected to continue forward.  Top trainer usually figures his horses out, but has recently hired a horse psychologist to study this animal.  It appears as of late the horse is responding to the sixteenth pole as the finish line.  Why this is occurring is one of the reasons for the hire.  Whatever the solutions he comes up with, the cure hopefully will come soon.

Made a name for him self in the G1 Allied Assault victory at the end of ’07.  Now he has started ’08 in the same fashion with a blowout victory in his last.  Scratch bred by Rock of Gibraltar this 5yo rates favorite hands down in this.  Most of us would take the earlier part of his career and be happy.  Winning and placing in listed and graded would put a smile in anyone’s stable.  But now, this horse has established himself as a true force to be reckoned with.  Stabled in the powerful shedrow of the GRsimsters, he has been moved to facility reserved for only the elite.  This is starting to look like a year to remember.  Certainly the “one to beat”.

Breaking his maiden at 11f said a lot about the future of this scratch bred 5yo!  However, due to reasons unknown to this punter, Sabbath became impatient and ran him in claimers.  A very smart claim by present owner has resulted in two graded wins!  For any of us normal’s, that would have been devastating to the point of injecting heroin into our toes.  However, the racelord took it with a grain of salt.  Now back to this fine animal.  He also has a front runner’s mentality, but backs it up with class.  His debut of ’08 leaves a mystery, but he should bounce back here.  Distance is no matter if he’s in shape, and should be able to dispose of any challenges early.  Top jock adds flavor.

Cocky name here.  However, this 5yo former claimer has taken a liking to new owner and grass.  Bred for distance he has recently flown through conditions and will be looking to break the magic 100SP for the 1st time.  Needless to say this is a tough route to take to accomplish that.  He does have the late kick and should pass some tiring steeds.  It would at this time be a long stretch to include him in the top three.

The pyeman brings a nice looking filly into this and gets the misfortune of the outside post.  Not only does she have to have the lead against some speedy boys, but her jock leaves a bad taste in one’s mouth.  She has competed against the boys before and shown her wonderfully shaped rump to them; but not at this level.  She’s coming back quickly here and we assume the pyeman is up to his old tricks.  No need to doubt his tactics as proven by his success, but this filly has a lot of negatives in this.  Let’s hope she comes back in one piece. J

I cannot see the 9 horse losing…use him on top of your exactas and tris.
