The Sun Is Out And Things look Bright

The Sun Is Out And Things look Bright

Auction 3490 – A week of contrasts this week at the auction as fewer horses were entered but the average sale price was up as were the total sales.  The number of 2 YOs entered was way down, probably because 2 YO racing is right around the corner and it is much harder to offer up what just might be the next derby winner.  The Computer Farms took home about 50 less horses this week than last, which is a good thing as that is just about the end of the line as far as Sim horses go.  But I will let you look for yourselves.

Auction Seen – Well finally, the sun was out both when I left Arizona and when I arrived in Kentucky.  I made my way through an incredibly crowded sale barn and when I finally arrived at my table I found…. an unlit fire!  Now what kind of a deal is this?  It might be sunny but 50 degrees – IS NOT hot!  I guess they figured that the crush of people would keep the place warm.  Cheap skates!  So I immediately ordered up some hot chocolate (Hershey’s Kisses, of course) and settled down, still wearing my coat and I don’t care if it is bad manners to wear a coat inside, to see who was visiting the auction this week.

Redhatcat had his friend Bigredwon in tow as they made their way down closer to the ring to where Deadman was hanging out.  I saw Evildoer, Outlaw and Slacker over in the corner with Classified and no telling what they were cooking up but more than likely it will not be something everyone will like.  Nagnagnag stopped by my table to remind me not to get our stable nags mixed up and Racinrich was keeping an eye on Tigereyes who was staring at Puffqueen.  Treefarms, Teaplanter and Crnhusker were down by the rail, no doubt looking for agricultural opportunities or at the very least discussing farm prices with Hillbilly.  Wabred and Wetrunners – of course they would be together – were talking positive about Disneyland and Robinhood.  I really wanted to hear what they were saying but even though I have big ears they were just too far away so I was really glad when Soclose came by to say hello before going off towards Gocollect to buy a catalog along with Mattbumba (Matt what?)  On that note….  I better go on to the millionaire horses for this week.

But first – in all seriousness – I would like to wish my good friend Stretch a speedy recovery from his recent stay in the hospital.

Get Well Soon, Pat!

The Millionaires:

Only nine horses sold for more than a million dollars and many of those were stable transfers.  Of the four that were not – the top selling horse was hip # 150519, You Can’t Escape.  The very handsome gray 4 YO colt has only started five times, winning once and finishing in the money three times.  Foxon5 consigned this nice colt and Marre paid $3,031,865.00 to take him home.  He looks like he might be a nice buy if Marre can get him over what might be distance limitations.

Champions2 sold a pretty 4 YO dark brown filly by Tale Of The Cat to Zeco for $1,320,000.00.  Dixieland Cat, #132661, has won three of 12 races and has finished in the money seven times and it looks like Zeco may have gotten a nice lightly raced filly for his money.

Holy Native, #150168, brought $1,111,112.00 from stable Dreamon.  A smallish but good looking, 3 YO gray colt by Macho Uno, Holy Native is a winner of one of his five starts and was consigned by Zewango.  This colt has some growing to do and once this colt matures he should improve.

Sirronny paid $1,000,001.00 for a 3 YO burnished chestnut filly by Royal Academy.  Royal Danser has yet to win a race but she has only started three times and has improving speed figures.  Sold as hip #153224, Royal Danser was consigned by Moriahspop.

The Stc:

Trainers involved in the Sim Trainer Challenge bought a total of 19 horses for $39,726.00 with an average price of $2,090.84.  That average was helped immensely by Gwolfstc who paid $15,001.00 for a 3 YO filly named Indy Bird # 120521.  She is by Sabre D’Argent (Kris S) and out of an AP Indy mare.  Lawyerron sold this attractive filly that has never run for a claim.  Lexington sold the 5 YO bay horse #101524 Living In Oz to Stcr12.  By Crafty Prospector, this young horse brought $8,002.00, the second highest bid in this section.

That’s it for this week.  Good Luck with all your auction purchases.
