Faith Fantastic And Be Sharp Er Headline One Thief

Faith Fantastic And Be Sharp Er Headline One Thief

Kansas – I am not sure why the horse One Thief had a race named after him – but he did.  He is a 9YO horse who won only three races from 50 starts.  He has no foals to race and his one and only owner Theboss, must know the secret to race naming.  In The One Thief Memorial, eight horses will go to the post on Saturday including one filly.  The race will be held over the turf course at a distance of 6 1/2 panels and is for all horses three and up.  A purse of $55,000 is up for grabs.  Here is a look at the field from the hedge out.

On the inside will be Da Show Must Go On (7/2) a 5 YO by Theatrical and trained by Hairball.  The show might go on but this horse can’t run this far.  He has lots of gas but his only win showing is at six furlongs.

Tippecanoe (7/1) is a well bred 3 YO by Seeking The Gold.  He has only won two of his 14 starts but…he is 10/14 in the money.  He was a closing second last time out in The Edison In A Lord at longer but this is only 6 1/2 and Tyler too could outride the 2 % jock trainer 1i3 didn’t select.

Ancient Land (5/1) is pretty set in his ways and this 5 YO son of Arazi wants to do it his way or no way.  He likes the lead and if he doesn’t get it – he doesn’t run.  Will he get it?  I don’t know.  Ancient Land is conditioned by?

Fantastic speed figures, compared to the rest of the crew, accompany Faith Fantastic (7/2) a 3 YO by Fantasticat.  Ranked # 29 he is lightly raced with only 13 starts, five of them wins.  He is the winner of The Southern Seattle three back and he likes the distance and has a rider capable of getting the job done for trainer Trilobite.

Post five will hold Barb’s Steely Dan (10/1) a 3 YO son of Aldebaran trained by Mattbarn.  He has four wins including The Nightly Joker Memorial but a punter will need steely nerves to wager on this one with his low percentage rider.

Be Sharp Er (7/2) is a 4 YO by Came Home and he looked sharp last time out in The Award Dropping when he went wire to wire for an easy win at longer.  He will like this distance but he might bounce off of that big effort that earned him the top speed figure showing of 110.  Erracing will saddle this nice colt.

The 3 YO filly Devil’s Snare (11/1) is by North Light and trained by Simsters5.  The devil sure got hold of this one last time out and hung an anchor around her neck.  Throw that one out because this is a solid race filly and she will get part.

On the outside will be Danz Song Bird (5/1) a 5 YO horse by Unbridled Song.  He is trained by Onguardrac and is a winner of nine.  He was singing the blues last time out but is back on his favorite surface.  It might be too far for him but he has a good rider and that could help.

Good Luck to all
