HI beat reporter Pogo here,coming from Ascot to take in race 10 on Saturdays card,The MOTHER LIVE Bonanza Stakes,for 2 yo fillies ran over 7 furlongs on the firm turf.Its not a good race if your a punter as we have only 4 runners,one of them a computer owned no hoper and a red hot odds on favourite that looks impossible to beat.Its a pity that the $90000 pot wont be more vigorously fought over.

2 yo scratchbred filly by Sadlers Wells.2runs 1 win 1 third $24384.Breeding of the race and form of the race,its no surprise to see he go off 1/5 fav in this field.In her first race finished 3rd over 5.5 furlongs turf at France,beaten 6 lengths.Next time improved considerably to win a hot looking 6 furlongs maiden at Athens with a impressive 81 speed figure.I cant see her beaten here,an easy selection.M Day rides this 1/5 favourite.

2 yo scratchbred filly by Phone Saga.8 runs 1 win 1 second and 2 thirds $24670.No hoper thrown to the wolves to make up the numbers.I know you should never say never,and iI have had a 2yo win at a bigger price,but it would take 2 injuries and a non runner for this one to trouble the judge.One thing is certain,he will finish in the first 4 although it will be a major achievement if she manages to beat 1 horse home.D Grohl rides this 51/1 outsider.

2 yo scratchbred filly by Common Grounds.5 runs 1 win 2 seconds and 1 third $52441.Consistent speed figures last 3 runs all over 6 furlongs (not progressive though) leave her form well short of the favourite.She may well be at the centre of the only excitement in the race,the battle for second.Will she stay the extra furlong better than the 3 horse?Well that remains to be seen although so far in her career over 6,she has not been noted as a finisher.She is a 7/2 shot and B Webb gets the leg up.
