Sweden – 2005 G-3 Diana Classic
Welcome to Sweden for the 2005 running of the Grade 3 Diana Classic. A turf event slated for one mile For 3yo fillies battling for a purse of $150,000.
A creative mixture of 7 warriors will load to post. All entered bring to the forefront talented skillsof polished pace-cutting and closing final last quarters.
The track will be firm as weather prediction calls
For a cloudy day with temps peaking at 68 degrees.
Settle in with your favorite beverage and grab a Scribe. Our feature is loaded with positives and chin rubbing possibilities as you review the past performances. This is one to enjoy.
OLD HEAD – (seveii) (KING CUGAT x RAHY x RUBIANO)
King Cugat filly is getting stronger each start. When the gate springs open
you will see this lady fire out to be a pacesetter. She will not be alone as the
horse to the right of her will be out and winging also. Tele-timer stops
consistantly around 36 flat for this one. Looks to be ready to break the 100
speed rating plateau. If she can repel the posible 22 and change first quarter
along with a heart stopping sub 45 half, she could bottom out the field deep
in the lane. Trainer Seveii has pre-raced his entry wonderfully getting ready
for her first G3 event. Will have betting support from the patrons.
CANDY CANE – (wally123) (DISTANT VIEW x LEAR FAN x AL NASR(FR))
Explosive gate speed. Will give the rail campaigner all she wants as far as
cutting the mile. Didn’t seem to handle the off surface in the G1-“GO DEEP”
in Penn-USA and the class was to tough. But glancing through the charts
you will see an impressive 2nd in the G3- “SINORITA” on the soft turf
where the trip was clocked in 35 3/5 just getting caught late. If you let this
DISTANT VIEW baby get away with murder on the front end, other owners
may wish they had one more furlong! Horse is making the long trip to Sweden
for this one.
TETE MONTSEGUR(IRE) – (sabbath) (MONTJEU (IRE) x HALO x BUSTED(GB))
Scored a couple of checks in three previous attempts at Graded Company.
Droppeddown to Allw last start and blistered the field drawing off by 6. Watch the race and you will see that Jockey Knott was in hand and had tons more left in the tank. Owner Sabbath has his MONTJUE filly tuned and razor sharp with the ability to spear 1:36 or under for the mile. Before trying the G1-“SYDNEY OAKS”, The filly rattled
off 3 consecutive wins showing versatility to leave or closed and brush.
Will be played at the windows.
IRON SHOES – (erasmus) (FANTASTIC LIGHT x SEATTLE SLEW x NIJINSKY II)
Morning Line Favorite has the railbirds chattering. Last race against 3 others
in the “GRATEFUL LEE” was an exercise and tightener. As I watched the race,
I could see jockey Garcia had so much horse under wraps, she just gave the
fans a tickle of her talent. The daughter of FANTASTIC LIGHT was only 3
lengths back in the G2 – “LILLISPELIS CUP” and just missed paying huge
balloons at 23-1 finishing 2nd in the G3- “LIL’ DRUMMER BOY”. Owner/Trainer
Erasmus has the horse to take the top honors. At that is in question is what instructions
does he give W.Farthing to follow.
TETE SODOM – (sabbath3) (DAYLAMI (IRE) x SADLER’S WELLS x SIR IVOR)
Another nice entry from the Sabbath syndicate. DAYLAMI filly has talent
and the Can-Do to upset the other contenders. Although has never tried the
graded company before, speed ratings indicate she can get a piece if the pace
is blistering which it very well could be. Although charts indicate she may prefer
a little longer than a mile, having a 5 consecutive board hitting races is solid.
You must consider using any Sabbath entry on your trifecta because one
thing is guarenteed, TETE horses are in shape and Ready-To-Go!
MACABE’S BUBBA – (bobby4khw) (MACABE x SADLER’S WELLS x STAGE DOOR JOHNNY)
Tryed the European Stakes Circuit last time out running in the 7 furlong
G3 “BARRIER REEF”. As you watch the replay you will see that she was
coming and just need more distance to get there! Owner Bobby4khw has done
everything on queue getting the MACABE filly ready for the next level which will
be longer distance on the turt and tougher competition. Scorched a 5 win streak
that most would marvel. Consistant 90+ ratings speaks loudly that this
filly is packed with talent. Jock may have the lead somewhere down the lane.
Possibly deep into the stretch. Possibly at the wire!
CYTHERIA – (worldbeatr) (VINDICATION x STORM CAT x CARSON CITY)
Did get by BUBBA in the G3 “BARRIER REEF”! then had another start prepping
for this event. Challanging older ladies a few starts back in Conn-USA, she was
right there in 35 and a tick or two. That is enough to warrant serious consideration
as a board chalking threat. Owner Worldbeatr will have his instructions set to
maximize the VINDICATION offspring’s effort against this mixed G3 company.
Do you believe with this fillys’ obvious menacing closing last quarter, you would feel
Comfortable leaving this horse off your ticket? Trainer was portraying a very confident
expression during the viewing of his final prep workout.
Good Luck to all entered in the very competitive race. See you
All at the races. Don’t forget to watch Race !5 in Sweden this
Saturday.
