FOURTEEN RIVALS LOOK TO TURN BACK THE CLOCK

The SMACKDOWN 3 SOPHMORE FILLY TURF MARATHON has attracted a field of fifteen runners.
Four of the top five ranked fillies in the Sim will compete in here with an unusual mix of potential
upsetters and a few “what the heck was this trainer thinking” runners. Let’s break down the field
starting with the favorites down to the longshots.

From the deanstroops stable, Set The Clock may be the second ranked filly, but she will go in
to this favored at 3-1 over the topped ranked gal, Derockery 9/2, from the theatrical barn. The
linemakers decision had theatrical scratching his head. “She went favored over us in our only
match-up. We beat her on the square in The Full Moon. Apparently it looked alot easier to me
then the lineguesser. Looks like we’ll have to prove him wrong again.” The Morning Linemaker
defended his decision. “Hey. Believe me, this wasn’t an easy race to set the numbers on. He’s
got a righteous gripe, but look at what Set The Clocks done since their race. Those back to back
triple digits are going to very hard for the bettors to ignor. Derockery has yet to run to either
of those numbers. The punters don’t see who beat who as much as they see those huge figures.”
But the Sim World knows that this race isn’t all about the favorites. Three horses were installed as
8-1 co-third choices, fairhaven3’s The Duece (ranked #4), trojan’s Sisson’s Pivot (ranked #22)
and Kneel Before Zod (ranked #5) who is trained by willyam40. All three have a reasonable chance
to be upsetters here. Sisson’s has won five of her last six, including a Grade 2 in her last start,
where she posted a 104 number. That’s tops in the field. Duece has back to back Grade 1 seconds
coming in to this, both at this distance. Zod won a Grade 1 two back when beating Duece and
both of those enter this race off of a six week freshenings. The other three favorites have only
2 or 3 weeks coming in to this. This, like many of the Smackdown match ups, is truely worthy
