Big field of 14 in this years Smackdown G1 at six Furlongs

AHHH. California. The beaches, amusement parks, the nice weather, the Giants, and the 49‘ers. These are all the things I think about when thinking about California. What do you think about? I bet none of you think about SMACKDOWN!! Yes, one of the biggest days in sim racing. Horses from three different residencies battle it out to see who can come out on top. This year we have the NWRC, the GR Simsters, and DUR . Most races are Allowence races, but don’t forget those 10 G1 races. Yes that’s right and today I will be talking about one in particular. The six Furlong Fillies & Mares 4 years old and up on the firm turf. This could be a good one with a 14 horse field and odds ranging from 6/1 to 17/1. So hold on tight as I take you through a look at each horse and what it might do. In post position #1 we have…

NIGHTSONG- Nightsong’s owner is given, and will be ridden by jockey M. Peters. His odds at 8/1 show no definite signs of a top 3 finish, but don’t put him as a big longshot either. His last 3 races look like this. 3- A firm turf race at 6.5 Furlongs in the G3 Las Vegas Handicap, as he earned a 2nd place finish with a 100 SP. 2- With that he moved to just a stakes race at 7 Furlongs, he did not fare so well there with a 97 SP, 4th place finish. His last race was in yet another stakes race this time at 8 Furlongs, and he did a little better earning a 95 SP and a 3rd place finish. Look for this horse to try to take the lead early and hold on to it until the very end. Next we have…

LINDT- Her owner is rocky79, and will be ridden at 8/1 odds by the jockey A. Liggis. He is also a horse in odds like Nightsong sitting at 8/1, but with his last 3 races he could be trouble in this race. His last 3 look like this. 3- An allowance at 7.5 Furlongs got him a win with a 103 SP. He then got bumped up a level into a stakes race. There he raced at 8.5 Furlongs and earned another 103 SP. He stayed at that level for his last race at 7.5 Furlongs again, but this time earning a big win with an 108 SP. This horse may sit back in dead last or very close to it but it wouldn’t surprise me any if he does finish in the top 5 at least. The thing that may kill him in this race is the distance’s he has been running at. He may not have enough time in the end to make his move as he is racing 1.5 Furlongs shorter then his last race. This will be one to watch and will be interesting to see what happens with the shorter distance. The number 3 horse is…

DANCE SEEKER – Owned by rockriver, he is the small favorite at 6/1, and will be ridden by the jockey of P. Graham. As I said his odds at 6/1 put him as the favorite, but the odds are way to close in this race to say he will be a top 3 finisher. As for his last 3 races, they look like this. 3- He to raced with Nightsong in the Las Vegas Handicap earning a 1st place finish and a 105 SP. 2- was another G3 in the Viking Memorial Sprint, where he also got first, but with a 104 SP at 6 Furlongs. Then he moved to the 9 Furlong G1 The Born to Battle Stakes. He didn’t fare so well in that one only getting a 93 SP and getting 8th out of 8 horses. I think he will do well in this race as he is moving back to his favorite distance at 6 Furlongs. Next ….

TEQUILA SHOOTER- Her owner sdmf will hope that jockey T Bay will get the job done one this 11/1 horse. As one of the higher odded horses in this field I think the odds are just about right, and here is why I think that. His last 3 races were two turf and 1 dirt. Now they were all at different distances two. One at 5 one at 6 and one at 8.5 Furlongs and he hasn’t finished higher then second in the 5 Furlong G3. His last 3 SP’s look like this starting with 3. 95,96,94, so not a high SP either. I don’t think he will fare very well in this race because of the competition. If he does do anything he will sit up in the front at the start, but with some of the stretch runners we have seen so far I don’t think he will stay there long. Now is…

WORLD OF TROUBLE- A 9/1 mid odd racer owned by zwylde. He will be ridden by jockey C Winter today. He is another horse that I think may do well in this race, and here is why. If you look at his last three races they look good. With decreasing distances he has been doing better each time. His 3rd a G2 was ran at 8 Furlongs and got him 4th even though he ran a 100 SP. Then He ran in a regular stakes at 6.5 Furlongs and got third with an 104 SP. Again in the next race swylde decreased the distance to 5 Furlongs and that got him a first place finish in the G3 with only a 98 SP. This horses odds may be high but I think this is the right race for him to be in. I feel good about this guy so I may make a bet, but he has a very good chance at doing some damage in this race. And now…

ACADEMY OF LIGHT- One of the higher odded horses of the race at 15/1. He will be ridden by S. Munoz. Owner sharood will hope this race will be better then some of his last three races which look like this. 3- A grade 3 at six Furlongs that got him an 8th place finish and only an 87 SP. His second was a little better in an allowance which got him a win and a 100 SP. Then it was back to the graded races again but once again he failed, ran 8th, and got an even lower then the last 83 SP. Now his last two races have been under the six Furlong mark, so this is a risky bet for those that are going by me. This guy could end up first!! Or could end up dead last. This will defiantly be an interesting one to watch. Now the half way point horse. # 7 is…

QUEEN DOMINIQUE- A 12/1 odd horse who will be ridden by G. White. Her owner dragon1 has to like these odds. In her last 4 races she hasn’t finished higher then 3rd and her highest sp was only a 100. Her last three look a little like this three stakes all at 7 Furlongs that may affect her today. She went 4th, 3rd, 5th, in her last three with SP’s of 99,100,and 95. She may finish in the top five, but it will be a tough road for her. She has tried to come back down the stretch and it hasn’t worked very well for her, but maybe the shorter distances will work for her. We will see Saturday at 12 EST or 11CST. Now starting the back 7, we have…

CROSSLAND DRIVE- It will be a long road for this guy to win it as his odds are at 15/1 and his jockey J. White. His trainer a Unique stable name of ssj4vegeta will hope for the best as his last three weren’t his best. They look like this, 3- a grade 3 where he ran 5th and had a 94SP. This race was on good turf though and it was at 6 Furlongs. His SP decreased by 1 in his next race, a stakes race at 7 Furlongs that left him sitting in 6th place from there. In his last race he moved down to 5 Furlongs and ran an 88 SP. That got him 10th, this guy might not be a big favorite, but the talent is there to where he may be competitive. Number 9 now is

WILDEST SLEW- anymore, will hope that T. McGiggs will get the job done on this 12/1 horse. This guy has unusually high odds for a race but it could be the fact that his last 3 races were not a G1. His SP’s are there, if he does get a good jump he could get the win. His last 3 look like this, 3- a 7.5 Furlong race that got him first with a 96 SP. His next race got the distance down to 6.5 Furlongs where he ran a 100 SP second place finish. He then got bumped down even more to 5 Furlongs his last race where a 94 SP third place finish was earned. He is defiantly one to watch and may be a good bet. His odds are a little to high, but he could go either way he could jump into the lead or take er home down the stretch. Whatever he does it will be a good 12/1 bet for the race. Only 5 more now, as we head to number 10

COLORFUL CADEAUX- The second favorite at 7/1 this guy looks like he is in good shape to do some damage in this race. Although his finish in his second to last race was 8th his SP was up there pretty high. Owner backnine will have to have faith in jockey T. Silk. His third to last race was a G2 at six Furlongs. He finished third there with a 97 SP. He then was entered into a stakes at 7.5 Furlongs where he finished 8th, but with an SP of 96. His last race was back to six Furlongs where he finished second in a G3 with an 106 SP. If he gets a good kick down the stretch look out cause this horse will be right up there with the leader if he isn’t the leader. He seems to prefer 6 Furlongs so it was a good move to keep him there. Defiantly a good betting prospect. Number 11 now

ESSENCE OF SOOZ- The 17/1 longshot in this race, owner ugluymonkey has to like these lower odds, they are pretty good by looking at her last three racs, where she hasn’t finished over 4th. The owner will have to have faith in jockey O. Sturman today as he will be ridding her. That was in her third to last race where she ran in a G3, and ran a 96 SP. Her next race was in another G3 where she ran even worse at 9th and an 86 SP. Her last race was better, but not to much where she ran 7th with an 93 SP. So overall this horse looks like the longshot her last G1 race was 8 races ago, where she ran a not so good 9 SP. Number 12 is next and she is..

LEINART- This girl owned by peeps11, is sitting at 9/1, and the jockey sitting on her today will be L. McNeil. These odds are right about where they should be although they could be a little lower. This is because her last three races were pretty good, even though they were all at 7 Furlongs or above, her highest sp was a 104 and her lowest was just a 98. Her last three look like this, 3- A regular stakes at 7 Furlongs where she posted a 103 SP and picked up a win. 2- Another stakes at 7 Furlongs where she ran 5th with that 98 SP. Her last race was pretty good, another regular stakes at 7.5 Furlongs where she ran second with the 104 SP. This will likely be one to watch and may be a good bet to earn a little extra cash. And now we have…

SEEKING GLORY- Another 9/1 odd horse, but it is yet owned by another peeps stable. This time its peeps5 hoping for the win and that prize payout. She will be ridden by jockey B. Dickerson today, and her odds are just about right for this horse. She has her moments, but you never know when they’ll come. As for her last three they look like this, 3- A regular stakes at 7 Furlongs where she got an 99 SP 2nd place finish. Her next race was better, in another stakes where she posted a 104 SP earning herself a win, this time at 6.5 Furlongs. In her last race she was outraced in a G3, at six Furlongs getting 5th with only a 94 SP. As I have said he can and may do some damage, it will all depend on how she wants to run this race. And rounding us off sitting at number 14 last but certainly not least we have…

INCREDIBLE PEG- Incredible Peg has a lot of things incredible going on for him this week. Owner tg1hopes Japanese jockey S. Takahashi will get the job done. Incredible Peg’s odds are at 13/1, and she has to like them. Why you ask, well considering he last race was a 93 sixth place finish in a G3 at 6 Furlongs. The one before that was another G3 this time though she got 5th with an 95 SP. Her third to last race was in a regular stakes where she got the big win and showed her big SP off, at 103. So this will be one to watch right out of the gate, because she may do lots of damage, or she may not do any at all.

Lots of great horses will be racing today at California. The odds are way to close to even call out the top five already. It could be anyone’s day, the 17/1 could win it! Everyone has a pretty good chance. It will be a fun race to watch, and fun to see how it ends. The field seems to be pretty even on horses who like to start quick or sit back and pounce on their prey right before they reach the finish. I am going to go 3, 6, 12. I think six can get the job pretty close to done, but 3 will edge the pack at the very end. So if you want to see the ending race join me at 12 EST Saturday and watch with me race number3287.2909!! Good Luck All Trainers
