#1
union pacific west       sweetfilly barn              m zeus                 6/1

Comes in off a second place finish on February 4 at the “Bigtate Child Turf Route”. He has four career wins with biggest coming at Grade 2 “The Adam Gene” where he took an early lead at this distance and never looked back. He will be one to watch today and should finish in the money.

#2
fabulous bolt                gangrel barn                 k champ               8/1

This six year old has just thirteen starts in his career and only raced twice in 2017. In his first start this year the Grade 2 “The What The Who”, he finished ninth in a field of eleven. When he has raced, it has been mostly at all levels of Graded Stakes with all of his last eight being there. Has show some speed in the past so could compete. No bold predictions here on this mystery.

#3
for valhalla                   bsben7 barn                 j stivers               7/2

This son of Charm Spirit has been on a nice run, finishing in the money in all but two of his last ten starts. He had a nice win last time at the “Start the Music Turf Route” where he was patient coming from way back. He enters his first Graded Stakes race here today but has shown lots of speed and should fare well here out of the three hole.

#4
tete bourg                     sabbath5 barn              r truitt                  4/1

Had a fourth place finish last time out  at the “Storming Buda Turf Slayer”, his first race back after a long six month layoff. Has really impressive speed numbers throughout his career and has won five times in his nineteen lifetime starts. The distance should be a good fit for him and he should be in the mix.

#5
barb’s scar                   mysweetlife barn         r whisper             8/1

This four year old son of Kitten’s Joy has raced almost exclusively at Stakes Races with ten of the last eleven being at that level. The other was a fourth place finish at the Grade 3 “The Philanthropist” as a two year old. He has not seen the winner’s circle since late October 2016 and looks to change that here today. He will be in tough here today and will need his best to compete with this group.

#6
hulkenburg                   aggots barn                  m day                  7/2

Had a win last time out at an allowance race that covered nine furlongs. Has not fared well in four career Stakes starts and makes the jump to Grade 3 for the first time. Has won eight times in his twenty career so he has proven he knows how to get to the winners circle. Interested to see how he matches up here today against this field of eight.

#7
ace high sherriff          wagkombi barn            r thieneman        10/1

Entering his first Stakes Race at any level. Only raced three times in 2017 and has exceeded that total already this year as he has been racing every two weeks since the ball dropped in time square. He has had two runner ups and a third place finish in his last three and showed some speed. Not ready for this level yet and will not be a factor here today.

#8
oasis skunk                  baffer barn                    j ledwith              4/1

His last ten races have been split between Grade 2 and Grade 3 with five of those finishing on the board including a win at the “Dracula Stakes” last April. He showed big 115 speed last time out in a third place finish at ” The Road Rash”. He should be competitive here today and could challenge for a spot on the board.
