This colt has had some success at this level as he was a winner at the Grade 2 “Champagne Mile” as two year old. He followed that up with a third place finish and a win at Grade 3. His last start was at the “War City Turf Route” on February 10 where he finished a distant third in a small field of five. Should fare okay here today and has a shot to hit the board.

Entering his first Graded Stakes race in his ninth career start. Has performed well to date, finishing in the money in all but one of his starts. Showed good speed last time out where he was a winner in an allowance race that covered nine furlongs. I like his chances here today; he might be a nice surprise out of the two hole.

This son of Pioneer of the Nile has participated in four Grade 1 Stakes races and one Grade 2 in his eight race career. He had a big win in the “Dell Computer Futurity” in his fourth start and then struggled with a fifth place finish followed by two eighth places.  In his first start as a three year old he rebounded with a runner up at an allowance race that covered eight furlongs.  He is stretching things out here going more than eight and half furlongs for the first time.

This son of Speightstown had a win in his second career start and has not visited the winner’s circle since then. He is taking a big jump here today against this competition and is surprisingly stretching things out to this distance when any of his success thus far has come at six and a half furlongs or less. Not ready for this level and distance and will not be a factor here today.

Had a wire to wire win last time out at the “Z Celebre Turf Route” at this distance and a win in the race prior over eight and a half furlongs. Has shown decent speed in his last two races and may top one hundred speed for the first time here today. He will be in the mix.

This impressive young Colt has finished in the money in all five of his career starts including four wins. He has amassed over $700,000 in earnings mostly due to a win at the Grade 1 “The Saint Cloud” in November. He will be one to reckon with here today and will once again finish in the money.

Comes in after winning for the first time in his career last time out in the Czech Republic in early January. He showed good speed that day and won easily against a field of nine that covered nine furlongs. The speed in the last race makes me think he should be in the mix here today and he may hit the board as a long shot.

This young colt has finished in the money in all six of his starts. Most recently he had a third place finish over eight and a half furlongs. Takes a big jump for the first time by entering a Graded Stakes race. He may be overmatched here today but I see good things in his future as he gains more experience. I will keep an eye on him to see how he progresses.
