This colt has been very consistent in his races. His last race was his first attempt at routing and he made a move from 12th to 4th then tired a bit in the stretch to finish 10th out of a field of 19 earning a speed figure of 84. Most of his races he has been a mid-pack runner early, making his charge around the 3rd call and finishing with gusto. He takes a step up today into Grade I company but cuts back in distance to 6 furlongs. Wouldn’t surprise me if he makes a move and tries to grab a piece of the pie.

This horse won his first four races with a Grade II win in his fourth start. His only race where he ran off the board was his 5th start, a Grade I event where he was far from disgraced finishing 7th of 13. His last three were excellent tries as he won two allowance races and finished 2nd in a listed. He can run with the pace or rate behind the leaders. Looks like the trainer has him in great form for today’s event.

3- GIANT AMONG MEN

Speedy well-bred colt by GC has shown good early foot in all of his races. He’s a stakes winner and Graded Placed in a Grade II event last July where he led the whole way and got beat by just a head in a heartbreaker. He’s taken on Grade I company where again he showed early foot only to settle for 7th of 14. His highest speed figure was a 97 earned two races ago in November where he finished 2nd in a listed stakes. His last race was a 4.5 furlong allowance race where he led and got beat in the final furlong to finish 2nd. He’s got speed and class.

4- COVE HARBOR

This colt has won on the front-end and has rated from just behind the leaders. He won his first four races including two listed with a high speed figure of 96. His last race was a listed going 8 furlongs for the first time and he led most of the way before being bested in the final strides to finish an excellent 3rd beaten 3/4 of a length with a 96 speed figure. Takes a step up today against graded company but there’s nothing bad to say about this colt. He’s done everything right so far.

5- MISSION OF GOD

This colt has only been off the board once in 7 lifetime starts. He has tried listed company twice witha 3rd and 5th place finish. Two races ago he finished 2nd in an allowance race earning a 94 speed figure. His last race was in a Grade III event going 6 furlongs and he stayed back most of the race before making a solid bid to finish 3rd withan 89 speed figure. That last race gives this horse a chance in today’s event. He looks like he gives it his best in every attempt. Good Luck.

This horse is a closer who launches from the back of the back of the field. His first race he ran 2nd ina maiden race then broke his maiden 2nd time out. His next two races were against allowance company where he won both by making strong moves in the final furlongs. His hie=ghest speed figure was a 94 earned two races back. His last race was his first try against listed company and he trailed most of teh way before turing it on and finishing 2nd with a 92 speed figure. It’s hard to say where he’ll finish against this bunch as he takes a giant step up in class but he can certainly put his strong kick into gear in the stretch.

7- TRIPLE BEE

This colt has shown good early speed in all of his starts. His last race was an allowance race going 7 furlongs and he led for the first three calls before fading back to 4th beaten over lengths with a speed figure of 85. Though he appears like a good earner and useful racehorse, he’s in very tough today and would be a surprise if he he takes the top spot. Looking towards other for the win.

8- I MISS MELANIE

Very well bred colt out of a Grade I mare. Looks like he likes to rate behind the leaders before turning it on in the stretch. He’s run 3rd in a Grade I event in September. Came right back to run 3rd in a Grade II event. He’s won his last two races in listed races with a high speed figure of 95. Classy colt will certainly be on my betting tickets

9- NEW WONKA SLOT

This colt has never been worse tha second in 6 starts. Three races back he won a listed by sitting just off the pace. Two races ago he won another listed in similar fashion with an 87 speed figure. His last race was a Grade III event going 6 furlongs and he launched from mid-pack to finish an excellent 2nd with 90 speed figure. He’s 12-1 morning line in today’s race and I wouldn’t be surprised if he out-runs his odds. Very Interesting!

10- RIDGELINGS

Trainer knew he had something by placing this colt in listed races following a maiden win first time out. He finished 3rd and 2nd in listed races before trying Grade II company at 9 furlongs where he finished last. Trainer brought him right back into a Grade III event going 6 furlongs and he won in a wire to wire victory earning a 92 speed figure. He’s the dark horse in this field. I just can’t figure out what he’s gonna do today. Wait and see!

11- RYAN’S SPEAKER

Very nice colt out of a Grade I mare. This one has won 7 of 8 races including three Grade III wins and two Grade II wins. He looks very shiny in this spot and gets the top nod from this handicapper. Should be very tough indeed.

This lightly raced colt is undefeated in only 3 starts. His last was a prep race in a hot race allowance. Two races back he ran 7 furlongs in an allowance race and won easily earning a 95. That 95 speed figure might suggest that one must take a closer look at this horse. Who knows what his potential might be. Will be interesting to see how he does against these more seasoned horses.
