Prayers Answered In Filly Turf Bonanza
Today in New South Wales we witnessed the running of the Grade III Filly Turf Bonanza, run over one mile and open to three year old fillies. Despite early showers, at post time the turf track was listed as firm as the field of eleven waited tensely in the starting gate for the race to begin.
At the start of the race is was Eaaaxmasgift (IRE), owned by bevron, off to an early one and one half length lead over ufslfarms trained SJ’s Ghostly Cause (IRE). Running behind in third was Street Dixie (IRE), owned and trained by epcotlen2. Along in fourth and fifth were A Case In Point and The King’s Hunter (IRE), trained by goodtimes and ticketman0 respectively. Out from the gate slow and trailing early by six and three-fourth lengths was seedly2 trained Denizens (IRE).
Eaaaxmasgift (IRE) increased her lead under jockey L. Fontain to two and three-fourth lengths over SJ’s Ghostly Cause (IRE) with Street Dixie (IRE) still in third. A Case In Point and The King’s Hunter (IRE) continued to battle on in fourth and fifth. Still trailing the field, now back off the leader by ten and one-fourth lengths was Denizens (IRE).
Coming off the turn Eaaaxmasgift (IRE) still had the lead and had increased it to three lengths with SJ’s Ghostly Cause (IRE) faltering and dropping far back into seventh. Moving up to take his place in second was ritchie owned Fought The Law with A Case In Point moving up into third with The King’s Hunter (IRE) in fourth. Making his move from back in the field and rocketing into fifth was bongo trained Prayer Vindication running along with Brazilla Killa (BRZ), owned by dolphin just behind. Dropping further back in the field was Proper Queen (IRE), trained by ace3. Fading far back into ninth is Street Dixie (IRE) who was still loosing ground quickly. Not moving from his tenth place spot was shamran7 owned and trained Eye Of The World (IRE) and still trailing the feild, though gaining ground with only eight and a half furlongs beteween herself and the front runner was Denizens (IRE).
Then the field came to the wiere and it was a late charging Prayer Vindication, ridden by K. Williams and owned and trained by bongo to take the win in the Filly Turf Bonanza by the barest of noses over Fought The Law. Everyone waiting tensely as the photo was reviewed to make the winner official. In thirdd, three-fourths of a length back was Brazilla Killa (BRZ).
