Filly Turf Bonanza GIII

Its a beautiful sunny autumn day in Queensland and a Hugh crowd is in attendance for one of the biggest days in the northern state . The race we are going to take a look at is the Filly Turf Bonanza Grade III
A mile and one eighth Firm Turf $200,000 Fillies and mares, 3 years old . An very even field of 9 faces the starter the favourite is at 3/1 and the outsider at 11/1 an interesting contest is in store. Comments today by leading RL Queensland trainer Inaugural Queensland Racing Hall Of Fame inductee Bruce McLachlan lets take a look.

PP1 GALILEO’S DANCER(IRE) sledge4 M Radke 3/1

As her name suggests this filly is by GALILEO (IRE) and is a fine example of his progeny . She has won 5 of her 11 starts so far and has performed well in stakes racing . Her onr graded race over 8f wet turf produced a nice 3rd so this race should not hold any fears for her the extra furlong should in fact help her chances and as a front runner will have to be caught and beaten .

Bruce’s Comments : I saw this filly race in the G1 How Are You Gentlemen Cup in Sydney last start and she ran a good race for 5th only 3 1/2 L from the winner DAHLIYEV(KY) who is already a $million earner so it was effort would not need to improve much on that race to win here.

PP2 TARA REID(GB) lgbost2yop C Wyatt 6/1

She has won over the distance in a stakes race and that’s a big advantage has the services of the top jockey in Queensland and he should secure her a good trip on or near the pace. She has been in the money on 11 occasions in her 13 start career.

Bruce’s Comments : The sort of filly we would all love to train very consistent and here’s hoping she can step up to graded company will be well ridden and a genuine chance in this field.

PP3 THE BIG HIT(KY) mickbriant T Brett 7/1

Interesting runner by the great STORM CAT she is having her 1st run on turf in a reasonably short career . Breed to be a great turf runner her he-mare producer FINAL SYN(GB) remarkably considering his breeding favoured dirt so it will be interesting wether this filly throughs to the sire line in this .

Bruce’s Comments : Hard to get a line on her she looks well in the parade ring and her trainer ladofmanor will be hoping she handles the turf.

PP4 BEAT AUROR(GB) auror V Hull 5/1

Another of the well bred fillies in this race she has had a short but successful career to date 7 starts for 3 wins and 3 seconds has won beyond this distance which is pretty good for a 3yrold filly this time of year . Has yet to race in a graded race but has good stakes form . Will race midfield in this race and look to close on the leaders in the stretch.

Bruce’s Comments : Stepping up a bit in class but ultra consistent and should get some of the cash. .By BEAT HOLLOW (GB) so distance should be no problem.

PP5 SERPENT BREATH(IRE) buffy7 T Cox 6/1

Nice win last time in the St-The BIRD SPIT Handicap with a much improved 93sp so looks like she is at the stage where she will improve rapidly bred to be very nice classic turf filly she will only improve as she gets older with T Cox in the saddle will loose nothing in way of horsemanship.

Bruce’s Comments : I love the fresh new breeding of this filly AZAMOUR (IRE) x GONE WEST x SADLER’S WELLS and with 4 wins already looks a real up and comer .

PP6 OFF TO DUBAI(IRE) irt1 S DeBerg 7/1

Nice allowance runner who has only raced 5 times she has never been out of the 1st two in turf racing and has run some competitive times time will tell if she can measure up to graded company here.

Bruce’s Comments : Her mother OFF FOR DIGGER was a pretty good classic runner on turf but this filly seems to like turf can run a place in this race.

PP7 BRAZILLA KILLA(BRZ) dolphin L Lang 11/1

Brazilian bred runner who’s only run at this distance was pretty impressive at longer odds in this has won 3 of 10 and if that win over 9f holds up in this may surprise.

Bruce’s Comments : Jump up to middle distance racing has seen her form improve but i think the others may be a little to tough for her here.

PP8 FANTASTIC FORM(JPN) beisbol R Guyo 7/1

Trainer by the popular forum contributor beisbol this filly has never been out of the money in 6 starts and produced a fine effort in the St-The DRUG DEALER Special last time out over this journey from the multiple grade winning mare A. P. FORM who amassed over $1,000,000 in earnings and in turn has produced 3 stakes winners from 4 foals so far the others being A. P. SAILORMAN and YIELD ON YELLOW she sure has a big future ahead of her .

Bruce’s Comments : I have been greatly impressed with this filly so far and remember her mother well winning the Black Gold Stakes-G1 here way back in week  1124.5515 on that alone she gets my vote in this as they say “ Class begets class “

PP9 HONOR HER(FR) tootsie T Phillips 9/2

Second favourite who has mixed racing between dirt and turf with success doesn’t win them out of turn but is pretty consistent on both surfaces has yet to race past 8f and its hard to say why the odds makers have her so short but they must know something . We will have to take on trust that she can get the journey .

Bruce’s Comments : A nice filly but i cant get real excited about her chances at the odds i may be proved wrong but i have not picked her in my top three Her run over 8f turf was encouraging but jump to 9f would have to show marked improvement to win in graded company here.
