Here in race 11 at the marvelous sun drenched California track, Given bids some

credits for a race, not just any race, its the eagerly awaited reappearance of

POISED, (the most talked about horse in the sim for decades) happens to be on

Kentucky Derby Day.  Will all the talk be about POISED or about the Derby

winner?  Given put his hand in his back pocked and pulled out $5.1million in

crisp $100 notes and said i’ll take this 2 Year Old Homebred Brown Colt and give

it a new home, hoping the master CASTERLY ROCK can teach it a thing or two,

three, four or five.

Colt out of CAPTAIN RIO (GB) x TAP ON WOOD x CAMBREMONT (FR)

1 run 1 win SP 58, only 5 started for this modest maiden, won easily by just

short of a length on the fast dirt over 5f. Nothing in the race has run since.

Verdict…Fortune favours the brave, no fortune no future.

MONTY’S PAIN(CHI)  trained by skinner ridden by A Lewis odds 24/1    

Mare by GENTLEMAN TIME x ALLOCATED x LORD AVIE

Led all the way, stretching out to win easily. Won by 2 lengths, over 5.5f good

turf, SP of 63, in this $50000 maiden claimer not claimed. Only 5 ran, also

nothing of promise behind him.

Verdict…No pain, no gains here i’m affraid.

SUMSUM BOZO(AUS)  trained by somebozo ridden by O Brim odds 20/1    

Colt by DANE SHADOW (AUS) x PILLASTER x CALBOY SHAM

2 runs so far for this colt, 1st time out a 4.5f maiden on fast dirt winning by

over a length, SP of 68, lots of horses behind him have made money since, so

very encouraging debut.  Last outing took on a 7 runner $73000 allowance field,

and died a death, finish 6th of 7, 6 lengths back, SP of 55 on fast dirt over 6f.

Verdict…All adds upto nothing again.

Beautifully bred colt out of SMARTY JONES x GIANT’S CAUSEWAY (IRE) x RAINBOW QUEST

Another with 1 run and 1 win, a 6f slow dirt maiden, cutting down his rivals in

the stretch going away by over a length at the wire, SP of 71. 3 horses behind

him have since won. Deserves to be one of favs.

Verdict…Nothing will stay with him at the wire, he will be gone.

GO FOR WAR(KY)  trained by dinomite ridden by T Steinlicht odds 12/1    

Colt by A. P. WARRIOR x CAT THIEF x FAST PLAY

Yet another 1 race 1 win stat, this one being a 5.5f fast dirt maiden, leading

from start to wire SP of 61.  No horses behind him have run since.

Verdict…May need a stick of dinomite to help here.

YESIT’SWAR(KY)  trained by chloedawg2 ridden by B Rahill odds 8/1    

Mare out of WAR FRONT x YES IT’S TRUE x SWORD DANCE(IRE)

1 race 1 win 4.5f fast dirt, up with pace driven clear in final furlong winning

by a length SP of 68.  2 horses since have won.

Verdict…A 2 horse WAR i think at the end, him second though.

MP PHARLY(CA)  trained by phar ridden by K Murano odds 10/1    

Colt by GLOBALIZE x STACK x PRIMO DOMINIE(GB)

Another 1 race 1 win, 4.5f fast dirt, head behind over 1st 2 calls, took lead

after, steadily pulling away to win SP of 67.  Horses behind have not produced

much.

Verdict…Mayber phar behind at the finish.

Colt out of SUPER FROLIC x HONOR GRADES x BOLD RUCKUS

Bought at auction by given for $5.1million, shrewd, mad, insane, clever, sim

newbie, greatest trainer ever lived the list goes on and on.  Anyway 1 run 1 win

a $59,000 allowance, annihilated the field of 7, over 5f fast dirt, led most of

way, pushed out and cruised to victory posting SP of 59.  Since then all

defeated horses have been shot.

Verdict…Poised for victory, Poised for Auction, Poised for Claiming, Poised for 5th.

ELECTRIC STORM(AUS)  trained by murray1 ridden by R Simcox  3/2 FAV    

Colt out of ENCOSTA DE LAGO (AUS) x WOODMAN x STORM CAT

1 race 1 win for our favorite in the race, led all the way, just held on by a

head in 6f fast dirt maiden, SP of 70. 

Verdict…Could be electric, i expect fuse to blow.
